Simplified and Complete Task Mode Explained
When you start a new Once Human season, a pop-up will appear asking if you'd like to play through it in Simplified or Complete Task Mode. This page explains what Simplified and Complete Task Mode mean in Once Human so you can choose the best one for your play style.
Once Human Simplified Task Mode Explained
Simplified Task Mode is best suited for players who have already played the Once Human story in a prior season. If you choose Simplified Task Mode, you won't need to replay through old story missions you've already completed.
Instead, when you interact with a story quest NPC, you'll skip their dialogue and any cutscenes, and the main mission will automatically be completed, giving you quest rewards in the process.
The downside is that certain quest rewards, such as Deviations like Space Turner and H37, won't unlock via main story missions. Instead, you'll need to find them elsewhere. The same goes for the Motorcycle, which usually unlocks during an early quest, though you simply need to build a Garage to be able to spawn it.
Complete Task Mode Explained
Complete Task Mode best suits new Once Human players who have never experienced the main story. If you select Complete Task Mode, you'll play every main story mission in full, complete with cutscenes and all rewards as normal.
Can You Change Your Task Mode in Once Human?
Once you've selected either Simplified or Complete Task Mode in Once Human, you cannot change your Task Mode, so make sure you choose wisely! It's currently unknown whether Starry Studio will allow players to change their Task Mode in future Scenarios.
