Welcome to the New Super Mario Bros. U / Deluxe Wiki Guide
Like its predecessor on the original Wii system, New Super Mario Bros. U allows four other players to move together through the Mushroom Kingdom, either by helping or impeding one another.
Of course, a marked change in NSMBU shifts the graphical look from the well-weathered standard definition to the promised land of high-definition. This affords crisper, brighter, and more colorful visuals that serve to remind people why Nintendo dominates in timeless graphics.
Gameplay-wise, a fifth player doesn't partake in the platforming action and instead uses the Wii U's GamePad to decide the fates of the other four. Insert blocks onto the path of the characters with a simple touch and manipulate said block to shrink it, or tap an enemy to stun it to help troubled players out. However, it can also be used against other players, so be nice to the player with the GamePad!
When it launched, on Wii U, New Super Mario Bros. U could either be purchased as a physical copy or as a digital download on the Wii U eShop. It quickly became the best selling game on the eShop. A Switch port with some enhancements was released in 2019, both as a boxed copy and digitally.
DLC
New Super Luigi U is an add on for New Super Mario Bros. U and was released on June 20, 2013. The add-on features 82 redesigned levels focused around the beloved brother of Mario, Luigi. This extensive DLC add-on was included in the Nintendo Switch New Super Mario U Deluxe re-release.
