How to Make Money - Reeve Guide
Reeve is the main currency in Metaphor: ReFantazio, and it’s used to buy weapons, armor, and consumables from merchants around the game’s world. When first starting out, you won’t have much Reeve to your name, so you’ll want to make money quickly in order to gear up your party with the best stuff available.
This page explains how to make money in Metaphor: ReFantazio with some tips on how to get Reeve quickly.

How to Make Money in Metaphor: ReFantazio - Tips and Tricks
Below, you'll find tips on making money in Metaphor: ReFantazio:
Sell Enemy Drops
One of the main ways of making Reeve when first starting Metaphor: ReFantazio is by selling the materials that enemies drop when defeated. Some are rarer than others and can be worth a decent amount, so if you need money in a pinch, consider spending a day grinding enemies.
Once you’ve got a good haul, you can take it to almost any shop and sell it for a profit.
Unlock the Merchant Archetype
If you complete the A Bullish Embargo Hunt and speak to Brigitta (the Igniter Merchantess) on Sunlumeo Street in Grand Trad, you’ll unlock the Merchant Archetype, which is a Reeve-based class that uses money to attack instead of MP. When equipped to the Protagonist, the Merchant Archetype grants a special Hero Passive called Alchemy which has a chance of awarding extra money when you kill enemies in the overworld. You can unlock the Merchant Archetype from 6/11, provided you’ve got your Wisdom Royal Virtue to rank 2 (see How to Increase Wisdom).
The best place to grind for money in the early-game is the Tradia Desert. Here, you can defeat weak enemies in the overworld without needing to engage in battle and earn extra cash using the Alchemy passive. You can grind here for as long as you like, as enemies respawn as you loop around the desert. Just make sure you scan the area using Gallica to see which ones you can pick off easily without a fight, like the packs of dogs. Depending on your level, the sandworms and birds may require an actual battle. We’ve earned around 10,000 Reeve a minute with this method, making it a fantastic money-making method in the first few hours.
Sell MAG at the MAG Exchange

If you’re in a pinch and need money in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you can sell MAG at a MAG Exchange for Reeve. To start with, the rate will be pretty low, but if you increase Brigitta’s Follower Rank to 3, you’ll unlock a better exchange rate. And if you get her to Rank 6, it increases even more.
You'll also get the best exchange rate when the weather is bad!
You can find a MAG Exchange in major cities and towns, indicated by the symbol that looks like an upside-down fly, as shown in our screenshot below:
MAG is pretty important too as you use it to unlock new Archetypes for your party members, so we’d only recommend doing this if you have the MAG to spare or you really need the money.
Take Advantage of Idlesday
While this isn’t a money making tip per-se, you can save a lot of Reeve if you wait for Idlesday, which is the fifth day of the week. On this day, most of the shops in Metaphor: ReFantazio have a sale and you can purchase items at a 20-40% discount. We’d recommend saving any purchases for this day to maximize your savings—it all adds up!
If you’re looking to buy a really expensive item and you can wait, July 27th (07/27) is Forgiveness Day. Shops have even bigger discounts on this day. It only occurs once, so make sure you save any non-essential purchases for the best bang for your buck.
Rank Up Catherina's Follower Bond
You first meet Catherina during the Necromancer Takedown main story mission, and later on, you'll be able to rank up her Follower Bond. If you reach Rank 3 with her, you'll unlock the Bounty Bonus ability, which gives you more Reeve whenever you complete a Bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

In our screenshot above, you can see we earned a boosted 52,000 Reeve for completing Grieving Ghost of the Goblet, rather than the original 35,000 Reeve we'd have got without the ability. If you're someone who likes to complete Side Quests, it's worth having as it's bonus money without doing any extra legwork.
