Stage 7-1
Any character will do, but Luger will have it rather harder than most. Templar will have it mildly hard until he can get a decent large magazine weapon. Either way, some patience will allow any character to go through this episode easily.

Move past the rocks, along the stream and eavesdrop on a squad of Helghast commenting on the sorry-state of their Air Cavalry. Templar, Rico and Hakha will face sentry bots long before the conversation ends. Fight of this squad, and watch for the grenade soldier covering the LMG soldier (above, top).
Things pick up rather fast if you seize the grenade pistol (above, lower left) and move down to intercept a second HG patrol (above, lower right); there is another grenade soldier in this second squad. Take the grenade pistol and nuke the second squad of Helghast down river.
A third ambush will be at the point when one of your squadmates say, "I don't like the look of this". Be ready to duck by some rocks or outright retreat when you hit the area illustrated (above, left photo). The Helghast cannot be touched (meaning no knifing) and can fire on you if they get on top of the rocks.
Shortly there after, you will see a Helghast dropship crash beyond a fallen log you cannot vault over (above, left photo). Head past a tree with branches that dangle over the river and a fourth ambush will occur. A grenade soldier will be to the left and several Helghast firing from the rocks. It's almost like 'Nam, except the grenade soldier will actually kill you if you linger. Head over to dry land (above, right photo) in order to engage the LMG/grenade squad and to get away from the snipers over the river.
Head the hump and find the crashed dropship (above, left photo). Take out the remaining Helghast with any ammo you have. Then go back and refill your grenade launchers and take the one with the most ammo with you. This stage is about end -- bee-deep, bee-deep, bee-deep.
Stage 7-2
A small lance of tanks are waiting at the top of the mountain path (above, left photo). Take out the gunners (you may lack ammo to destroy the tanks) using the grenades and mop up. If you feel like it, you can snipe at the soldiers across the chasm, but chances are you'll be cut down by the tanks instead. There is a final tank that bars the way in the wrong direction.

Do not engage it (waste enemies, not ammunition); instead, move up the stream and watch out for the grenade soldier covering the river from his perch (above, right photo). You can get his grenade rounds later but for now concentrate on the second grenade soldier is at the island structure further upstream (below, right photo).
Locate the mountain path and restock on grenade ammo. Grenades do not kill Helghast if they explode in water. Make the impact the rock wall instead. Use the AR/S or LMG exclusively for this level, if only to save on ammo. The crap load of dead Helghast at the tank column should provide all the ammo you need for this area.
At the head of the stream is a Helghast camp (above, left photo). Kill the bald elites and locate the switch to lower the roadblock (above, right photo). Before leaving, take stock in all the LMGs available (you'll need them) and try to keep a hand grenade or two around.
Stage 7-3
This is a trench exercise. Move past all the rocks and duck. Move right and kill the Helghast; go around the trench and kill all the HG as you work through the trenches (above, left photo). Move in such a fashion up to the HMG bunkers and blow them using grenades (above, right photo).
Move past the nests and kill all the Helghast in the camp. The laser designator is the HG wearing the four-pronged "Star Wars" helmet. Waste the s.o.b. (above, left photo) and follow your squad to the small shack and end the stage.
