Raudholar
Raudholar (or Rau?hólar) is the third chapter in Helllblade 2. Senua has reluctantly saved the slaver, Thorgestr, and with the help of a stranger named Fargrimr, she’s on her way to free more slaves. Our Raudholar walkthrough will help you find all collectibles while guiding you through the chapter from start to finish.
There are six Lorestangir and five Hidden Faces in Raudholar, and we'll be sure to point out each secret in order of appearance as you progress through the chapter.
Raudholar Walkthrough
Follow Fargrimr and listen as he speaks about his home and what has become of it thanks to Illtauga. Walk over to the left side of the area as soon as the path widens to find the first Hidden Face collectible. You should be able to see the face if you follow the giant crack in the ground to the left.
As soon as you reach the face, look to your right to find the first Lorestangir as well. Both of these collectibles blend into the environment, so we’ve also circled the Lorestangir while keeping the Hidden Face’s tree in the screenshot next to Senua for reference.
Now, return to the large crack in the ground and go right this time. Then, curl back so that you’re moving back in the direction you came from at the start of the chapter. The second Hidden Face is waiting for you at the circled spot in the image below.
There aren’t any other collectibles to find in this little area, so you can now rejoin Fargrimr and Thorgestr on the main path. They’re standing together to the right of the large crack in the ground that we’ve been using as a point of reference.
Walk with the two men until a scene triggers and Illtauga begins to emerge. Run to the hills while avoiding all obstacles in your way. Keep left after vaulting over the first bit of debris because the path on the right will close. Keep running through this linear section until you’re forced to stop when Illtauga finally appears.
Once the trio is safe, Fargrimr explains that the past volcanic eruption opened the barrier between this world and Jotunheim, allowing giants like Illtauga to appear. He also reveals how the slaves are being used.
Walk toward the man surrounded by a red light when you regain control of Senua. Then, turn right when a barrier appears to block your way. Grab the torch in front of you and walk up the path on the left.
Drop down the ledge and take a right to return to the barrier – it’ll disappear thanks to the light from the torch. Choose the middle path when you get to a three-way fork in the road. It’ll lead you to a clearing where a combat section will begin.
The first enemy is a heavy type with a two-handed axe, so prepare to dodge or parry slow swings. Use a few quick attacks after defensive moves to fill your focus mirror, then use it to create enough time for a longer combo. Avoid using too many heavy attacks because you will get countered.
The next two enemies are regular swordsmen who can dodge your quick attacks, so try to defend first, then use a heavy attack followed by quick ones. Use focus when it’s full to end these fights.
Pick up the torch after winning the battles. There are three exits from this clearing but only one is safe. A bright, red light appears when you approach the other two exits – this is the one you need to use:
Keep moving forward even when your torch goes out and the light fades. The path will lead you to another clearing with another combat segment. The enemies are the same as in the previous clearing, so remember those tactics here.
Pick up the torch again after you’ve won the fight. There are three exits with one correct option, just like the previous clearing. Avoid the exits with red lights to find the safe option once again.
Continue down the path, then use the torch to light the short sticks in the image below when you get to the dead end.
When you return from the shadows, Fargrimr tells Senua about the Hiddenfolk – beings who might be able to help kill the giants. Your next goal is to find them, but first, there’s a Lorestangir to collect nearby.
Turn around as soon as Fargrimr is finished speaking. Walk back, past his tent, and make a loop to find the second Lorestangir in Raudholar. You’re going the right way if you hear another conversation between other villagers.
Return to Fargrimr’s tent and descend the chalk-covered ledges nearby to proceed. The linear path will eventually split and you’ll see a hard-to-miss Hidden Face to your left. This is probably the largest face in the game thus far, and it’s well-lit by sunlight. Focus on it – and the tree behind it – to collect the third Hidden Face in Raudholar.
There’s a Hiddenfolk puzzle at the end of this path, but you can’t interact with the pedestal here just yet. Instead, go through the one open path to the left of the pedestal. Then, listen to Senua’s voices and pick up the round stone on the next pedestal you come across. The world will shift and change as soon as you pick it up.
The area is now upside-down but still mirrors the regular world. Bring the round stone back to the first pedestal and place it there. The goal here is to find one more unique, round stone in the area and bring it back to this center altar to complete the puzzle.
Approach the bubbles that appear and focus on them to unlock a new path out of this main altar zone. Grab the stone at the end of this new path and return it to the altar to complete this puzzle.
You can now pass through the giant obstacle and make progress. The fourth Hidden Face is on your right as soon as you take a few steps forward. It blends in a bit, but it’s a big one that should get your attention as you approach.
The third Lorestangir is also nearby. Walk forward and take a left when the path branches. Climb up a short, chalk-covered ledge and shimmy through a small opening to reach the Lorestangir circled in the image below.
Go back to the branch in the road and take the right turn this time to proceed. The Hiddefolk have prepared another puzzle, similar to the previous one. The goal is, once again, to bring the round stones back to the main altar.
This time, you can see two stones as soon as you enter this puzzle area. Only one path is open from the start though, so you need to begin by grabbing the stone on the hill to your right.
Bring the stone to the main altar, then turn around and focus on the bubbles behind Senua to form a new bridge where you just picked up that first round stone. Walk across the bridge and focus on the next bubbles to move the second round stone pedestal from the ceiling to the ground where you can reach it.
Once the second pedestal is on the ground, return to ground level and remove the bridge you just created to clear a path to the stone. Bring it back to the main altar.
Now, focus on the bubbles near the pedestal that’s high up on a ledge to your left. Climb up to the ledge now that you can reach it, then focus on the bubbles again to bring the pedestal back from the ceiling.
Finally, grab the third stone and focus one last time to create a path back to the main altar. Place the stone to complete the second Hiddenfolk puzzle.
Move through the newfound opening to progress into an area containing three collectibles. Take a right when the path branches to find the fifth and final Hidden Face in Raudholar. Climb two chalk-covered ledges to reach the large face lying on its side. The ledges in the image below appear just after you need to descend two ledges on the main path.
The fourth Lorestangir is in this same area. Return to the main path and make a left turn after taking a few steps down the road. Shimmy through a narrow pass and loop around to find the collectible on a small hill.
The fifth Lorestangir is also in the immediate area. The main path will branch yet again – this time, to the right. Go through the narrow tunnel to reach the collectible on the other side. The tunnel entrance is easy to miss, so keep an eye out to the right.
Get back on the main path and follow it to reach the final Hiddenfolk puzzle in this chapter. Start with the round stone pedestal to your right again. Pick up the stone to alter the world, then bring it to the altar.
Focus on the bubbles to your left, then pick up the round stone that appears to your right. Bring it back to the altar to get one step closer to completion. Focus on those same bubbles once more to reset the pedestal on your left – you need to reach that one next.
Return to where you found the first round stone pedestal and focus on the new bubbles there to create a path to the third pedestal. A draugar will attack as soon as you focus on the second set of bubbles in that spot, be prepared to fight an axe thrower, swordsman, torchbearer, and mace user.
Focus on the first set of bubbles again to create a path over to the third round stone pedestal. The route should look like the screenshot below when all the pieces are in the correct places.
There’s one more Lorestangir to collect before you pick up that third stone. Turn to your left when you reach the third pedestal to find the sixth Lorestangir upside-down in the ceiling. Focus on it from where you’re standing to get the final collectible in Raudholar – it doesn’t need to be right-side-up.
You can now bring the third stone to the altar to complete this Hiddenfolk puzzle. Follow the rushing water into the lake to find the realm of the Hiddenfolk and finish this chapter.
