Hours are the Character Creation currency of GTA Online. Hours act like points allocated to daily activities which correspond with a character’s Stats.

The only time you interact with the Hours system is during character creation. Once you are in the game, you are not obligated to spend time sleeping or doing legal work. The Hours system is also separate from the time system in the game, and again, the Hours only show up during character creation.
