Hood Safari
Hood Safari is a Franklin & Trevor mission in IGN's Grand Theft Auto 5 Walkthrough. MISSION NOTE: ACCURACY VERSUS TIME
- For better shooting accuracy, equip the Pump Action Shotgun (fully modded) for better shots.
- For shorter mission time, skip all cutscenes and use a semi-automatic rifle for faster kills. Take note that using semi-automatics will lower your shooting accuracy!
- Be aware that in most missions, you will have to sacrifice your shooting accuracy to achieve a lower mission time (and vice versa). Pick and choose which you want to accomplish and then try for the other on a Mission Replay.
PART 1: CRUISIN' DOWN THE STREET....
When the mission starts, get into the van and drive over to the waypoint at Grove Street. When you arrive, go to the house to trigger a cutscene.
PART 2: GROVE STREET SHOOT-OUT
After the cutscene, you'll need to fight your way out of the neighborhood. Equip a semi-automatic weapon and take cover. Fire at the incoming gang members while moving between cover.
When prompted, switch to Trevor and continue to gun down gang members while fighting your way out. As long as you stay mobile while taking cover, you won't get swarmed.
PART 3: SEASIDE ESCAPE
As you reach the end of the street, Lamar will tell Franklin and Trevor to run towards the LS River. Follow Lamar down the dirt road to the river and then enter the nearest jetski and zoom off.

MISSION NOTE: ESCAPING THE FUZZ
As you zoom towards the harbor, Lamar will suggest splitting up in order to escape the police. Depending on what you do, there are three ways to end the mission:
- ESCAPING SOLO: If you decided to break away from Lamar and Trevor, the mission ends once you've escaped the sights of the police.
- ESCAPING WITH LAMAR: If you decide to escape with Lamar, he will dock the Seashark at the nearest beachside and then you'll have to escape the cops by foot. Once the fuzz dies down, Lamar will ask you to drop him back to his house.
- ESCAPING WITH TREVOR: If you decide to escape with Trevor, Trevor will hit a dead end and you'll need to escape the fuzz by foot. When the fuzz dies down, he'll ask you to drop him off at the Strip Club.
