Easter Eggs and Secrets
Thanks For Playing!
At the very beginning of the game, climb the ramp and turn around, then use Dave's Pulse ability while looking down at the water to see a lovely message from The Coalition. Blink and you'll miss it, but the Pulse will reveal the phrase, "Thanks for playing - T.C. (The Coalition)"
Do You Like Fish Sticks?
Early on in Act I: Chapter 1- Shot In The Dark, you'll split off from Kait and Marcus and drop down through a hatch. Once you reach the bottom, look up and shoot each of the four valves you see on the pipes lining the walls.
Shoot each of them and a giant fish on a stick will descend from the heavens. Pick it up to wreak havoc on the Swarm with silly fury.
Chair-pocalypse
In the latter part of Act I: Chapter 1 - Shot In The Dark, you’ll arrive at an abandoned COG facility, complete with conference rooms… filled with chairs. If you remember the Easter Egg from Gears 4, you know JD is not a fan of these foldable monstrosities, so knock them all over to earn the ire of the AI still monitoring the facility.
Embry: Sera's Hamilton
Gears 5 contains a reference to popular, real-world musical, Hamilton. In Act 1: Chapter 4 - The Tide Turns, several posters for the fictional musical, Embry, channel the iconic pose from posters for Hamilton.
The Song Lyrics collectible found in that Act, which contains lyrics to Embry's opening song, also parodies the opening song of Hamilton and, like Hamilton, Embry is about an early government founder.

The play also takes place at The Palace Theater, which might be a reference to The Public Theater, where Hamilton played before it came to Broadway.
Fenix Tomatoes
In Act I: Chapter 4 - The Tide Turns, when you are moving through the kitchen area, head to the back right corner to find a cart with a crate on it labeled “Fenix Tomatoes.”
Dancing DeeBee
In Act I: Chapter 4 - The Tide Turns, you’ll find the hotel lobby filled with idle Rejects. Avoid killing (or attracting attention) of the one to the right (next to the Hotel Bomah sign at the top of the staircase) as you enter the room.
Circle around the left side of the room, taking the other DeeBees out, then climb the stairs leading to the DeeBee you spared and watch it for a few seconds. It will break into a short dance animation before returning to its idle state.
What Did The Plants Do To You?!
In Act II: Chapter 1 - Recruitment Drive, after the first combat encounter, head to the right to the greenhouse and shoot the potted plants until they break, and the local who runs the place will yell at you for harming the defenseless greenery.
So, You DO Speak English
In Act III: Chapter 1 - Fighting Chance, after you complete the Water Tower location, shoot the rescued nomad repeatedly. Eventually, she will begin speaking English and tell the player off.
Ghost Piano
In Act IV: Chapter 1 - Homefront, after Cole lifts you up into the remains of the demolished house, you’ll see a piano. Hit the X button while facing the left side of the instrument and it will begin playing a sinister rendition of Kait’s theme.

The Memorial Wall
After rescuing Paduk towards the end of Act IV: Chapter 1 - Homefront, you’ll be able to freely explore the cemetery. Approach the northeastern corner to find a Memorial Wall.
If you’ve found the appropriate collectibles during your playthrough, you’ll be able to place them at the foot of the wall, causing some of the series’ fallen heroes to appear and speak. Here’s to the fallen.
Cole Train, Baby
In Multiplayer, on the Asylum map, a train will occasionally run through the area. Eagle-eyed players (who aren’t fighting for their life) might catch a glimpse of Cole, dancing atop the train as it barrels through.
