The Pictomancer is one of two new jobs being added in Final Fantasy XIV's latest expansion, Dawntrail. This job is a Magical Ranged DPS class, and uses magic and art to summon fantastical and colorful attacks. This guide contains all the information you need to unlock the job class, including where to find the unlock quest and any additional requirements.

FFXIV Pictomancer Unlock Requirements

To unlock the Pictomancer Job, players must:

• reach Level 80 with another Combat Class/Job, and
• own the Dawntrail expansion

Once you've fulfilled both requirements, you can head to Old Gridania to speak with an NPC named Cheerless Hearer - located at (X:8.0 Y:10.3).

From them, players can receive a quest called The Joy of Pictomancy, which requires you to deal with a moogle that's been bothering passersby near the Gridania Aetheryte Plaza.

To find him, you'll need to wait at a destination just west of the Aetheryte.

Once you've met with the moogle, you'll need to head to the Inn/Adventurer's Guild, the Carline Canopy.

After a short cutscene involving an interview, you'll be able to speak with the moogle again to complete the quest, receiving a Pictomancer weapon, Soul Crystal and a coffer full of gear.
