How to Get the Ty'aitya Mount
Final Fantasy XIV's new expansion, Dawntrail, has released. With it comes a bevy of content, including new mounts. One of these mounts, the Ty'aitya, is adorable but requires an immense grind. This guide contains all the info you need to unlock the new Ty'aitya mount, including where to purchase it and how to acquire the necessary currency.

How Do You Unlock the Ty'aitya Mount in Dawntrail?
The first step to unlocking this giant sugar glider is to complete FATEs in the six new Dawntrail regions. Doing so will raise your Shared FATE rank in each zone, which you'll need to increase to Rank 4, which requires the completion of 66 FATEs each!
Altogether that's 396 FATEs, so it's best to join friends or a party in the Party Finder menu to speed up the process. Once you've reached max Shared FATE rank in each zone, you'll unlock a pair of new merchants in the Dawntrail cities.
In Tuliyollal, at the Bayside Bevy you'll gain access to Kajeel Ja's wares (X:12.8 Y:13.0).
In Solution Nine, at the Nexus Arcade, a vendor named Beryl will open shop (X:8.4 Y:14.1).
These vendors will have some unique items, like framers kits, but more importantly you can buy Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers from them. This item costs 100 Bicolor Gemstones each, and their only purpose (so far) is for purchasing the Ty'aitya Whistle, but you'll need 500 of them!
Where Do You Spend Your Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers?
As you can imagine, getting 500 Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers is a massive grind. You'll need to earn 50,000 Bicolor Gemstones, and with normal FATEs granting 14 Bicolor Gemstones apiece, it'll be a while. Luckily, with the release of Dawntrail, there have been some updates to how you earn Bicolor Gemstones. For instance, completing a World Boss FATE like Ttokrrone will earn you 100 Bicolor Gemstones at once! Additionally, defeating Forlorn Maidens or The Forlorn (which randomly appear in some FATEs) increases both the experience and Bicolor Gemstone reward, so defeating them before completing a FATE can cut down on the grind significantly.
Once you have 500 Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers, you'll need to head to Mor Dhona. North of the Aetheryte, inside Rowena's House of Splendors, you'll find a merchant named Edelina (X:22.1 Y:4.9). She sells luxury mounts for 50 million gil apiece, but she also has a category labeled Gemstone Voucher Exchange, where you can purchase your Ty'aitya Whistle (or a few other items if you've saved up Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers from Shadowbringers or Endwalker).
Once you've received your whistle, simply use it in your inventory to add it to your Mount Collection!
