Illusory Walls Locations
Illusory Walls are magical barriers (often walls, but can very occasionally be found on the ground as well) that must be hit in order to dispel the illusion and reveal what lies beyond. This page details the locations of all known illusory walls in the game.
Illusory Walls
To open up an Illusory Wall in Elden Ring, you must damage them by attacking or rolling into them. Any walls that are illusions will disappear, revealing hidden paths and rooms that have special items, weapons, optional bosses, and more. Below is a list of all the illusory walls found so far; check back as this list continues to be updated.
Limgrave Illusory Walls
Hit the square-shaped discoloration on the flagstones in the ground in the ruins to reveal a stairway down. This is necessary for the Sellen Questline.
Liurnia Illusory Walls
When you reach the summoning pool, go down the stairs and hit the first alcove next to the stairs. There is also an illusory wall when you hit the alcove second from the end.
If you follow the path down from the second illusory wall, you will encounter two more dead ends that are also illusory walls. Hitting these will reveal the door to the area boss.
From the Road to the Manor Site of Grace, face the Kingsrealm Ruins. The archway in front of you (if you're facing southwest) is an illusory wall.
Head to the northeast part of the ruins and roll across the discolored flagstones on the ground to reveal an illusory floor. This leads to an optional boss fight.
The northeast section of the ruins contains an illusory floor; look for the discolored square patch of flagstones and roll over it to reveal a Somber Smithing Stone.
The ruins northeast of Ranni's Rise have a hidden staircase that you can roll into to reveal. Go down these stairs and you'll enter a room filled with catatonic people. Head to the southern end of the room and hit the wall at the end to reveal another illusory wall.
This discovery links to the Seluvis Questline and the Sorceress Sellen Questline.
When you enter the room with three blades, ride the second or third blade up to the alcove in the wall on the lefthand side of the room. Run through this passage, to the right until you reach a dead end. Hit this wall to reveal the mist that takes you on to an optional boss - the Black Knife Assassin.
By defeating this optional boss, you'll be able to continue the Rogier Questline by bringing him the Black Knifeprint.
The Academy of Raya Lucaria Illusory Walls
From the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace, go up the steps and to the left. Hit the wall on the opposite side of the room (directly across from the entrance).
From the Schoolhouse Classroom, take the path to the right, to head up to the Debate Parlor. Go right at the first set of stairs and right again, when you get to the room with the staircases on either side. At the top of this staircase, the wall to the left is an illusory wall.
The eastern wall of the church is an illusory one; hitting this reveals a Rune Arc.
Caelid Illusory Walls
The entrance to the Sellia Hideaway is hidden behind an illusory wall in the cliff face. Just beyond the Church of the Plague where you find Millicent, there will be another graveyard. The cliff just behind the largest gravestone is an illusion. When inside, you can progress further into the hideaway by hitting the wall in the northwest part. There is a third wall that is illusory, again to the northwest. Note that to complete this area, you must have progressed the Sellen Questline.
From the Caelid Catacombs Site of Grace, follow the path until you reach the open room, with the giant flower just after the skeletons. There is a set of stairs on the left. Go down these and turn back on yourself, to go through the alcove and under the ledge. The wall on the far right is an illusory wall, with a Miranda Sprout behind it. You can also pick up the Miranda Sprout Ashes here.
When you reach the end of the catacombs and come to the locked door that opens the boss room, turn around. Approach the wall straight in front of you (in the middle of the room) and hit it. This will reveal the lever needed to open the boss room. Defeating the Cemetery Shade in here will also give you the Kindred of Rot Ashes.
Altus Plateau Illusory Walls
Head to the top of the stairs behind the two Wraith-Caller enemies to reveal an illusory wall that hides a vital part of the dungeon.
When you first enter the Sealed Tunnel in the capital outskirts, it will appear to be completely sealed. To the west of the room, near the summoning circle, however, there is an illusory wall here that you can hint to gain access to the tunnel.
Continue through the tunnel until you find a chest containing the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing. Hit the wall directly behind it to reveal another illusory wall.
Head to the very bottom of the lift, and before progressing, seek out the wall near the large roots. This illusory wall hides more parts of the dungeon to explore.
Make your way through the part of the tunnel revealed by the third illusory wall until you find a stack of crates. Hit the wall behind them to reveal even more of this dungeon.
Finally, at the very end of the room revealed by the removal of the fourth illusory wall, you will find the very last one in this area; hitting it will reveal a path to the area boss, followed by a Site of Grace as well as the entrance to the Divine Tower of West Altus.
After speaking to Tanith, head to the corridor where you can make use of The Drawing-Room Key. Go into the first room on the right, and behind the dead body is an entrance that will take you to a secret passageway. Follow this around to the left, then take the gate southeast. Continue following this path until you reach the dead body. Then hit the wall on the left of the body.
Head down the stairs from the Leyndell Catacombs Site of Grace. Continue onward until you find the lift, which you can ride upward until you get to a long hallway. Head this way until you see a flight of stairs; the wall underneath them is illusory.
Upon reaching this area from the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, hit the wall opposite the Site of Grace, revealing a chest with a Rune Arc.
The wall immediately behind the chest mentioned above is another illusory one; hit it to reveal a path to the Root-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace.
Mountaintops of the Giants Illusory Walls
As you take the first set of steps down into the cave, there's an illusory wall on the righthand side by the window arch. Heading along this and then jumping out the window at the far end will reveal a new part of the dungeon.
Head past the first Lesser Burial Watchdog you find in this location, then follow the hallway to your left until you reach a flame-spewing column. Duck to your right to avoid it; there you will also find an illusory wall that reveals more parts of the dungeon to explore.
Consecrated Snowfields Illusory Walls
Just after navigating the invisible floor, look to your left to snag a Grave Glovewort and, just behind it, an illusory wall hiding a chest with the Silver Scarab talisman.
