Killing Moon Walkthrough
This is the walkthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty's Killing Moon, the twelfth mission in the expansion if you choose to Tap to Reveal.
Picking to side with someone who's fighting to survive—just like you—is easy, but going against an entire government is a different story.
Killing Moon contains a major storyline moment that'll branch off to two different endings depending on your choice—this walkthrough will cover that as well.

Killing Moon Walkthrough
This quest won't start for a few in-game days after escaping the stadium. However, Mr. Hands will call V, which triggers Run This Town—a main job you could do in the meantime.
Reed will call you after a few days since you and Songbird escaped the stadium. Branding you as an enemy of the NUSA, Reed threatens that he and the rest of the FIA will find you and Songbird.
A few days after the call from Reed, Songbird will call to send you coordinates for a meet-up point. Meet with her in the alley by the N54 News HQ, get in the back of the van, and talk to her.
Clearly dying, Songbird got herself a flight to Luna to meet the Black clinic that'll cure her.
- At some during the conversation, you'll need to drive the car to let Songbird rest. Once you reach NCX spaceport, hand your weapons to Songbird and enter.
Inside the Spaceport
Proceed through the security gate. Don't threaten the security here; they'll send you to an interrogation room, and getting to the terminal will be much more complicated.

- Just jack in as normal and try not to draw too much attention.
- When the guard tells you to look at the camera, try to buy as much time as possible for Songbird to breach the database and enter a fake profile for you.
- If you have Level 20 Cool, you can pretend not to know which cam to look at.
Once you're past the security gate, find a way to let Songbird into the terminal. A friend has left you a suitcase by the conveyor. Use the code Songbird sent you on the Baggage Retrieval System by the stairs.
- Open the suitcase to find a Corp-Bud uniform you could put on in the bathroom.
You can get Songbird in a couple of different ways; one way is through a service shaft on the second floor next to a couple of mech robots. You'll need at least Level 10 in Technical Ability to open it.
After dropping down from the shaft, there are two doors; one can be opened using either Level 10 Body or Technical Ability.
- Don't worry about sneaking past the guards here since you're wearing the uniform, but once you get to the construction zone, cams, robots, and mechs will see through your disguise, so stealth is a must.
When you get to the roof, head past the building marked 03 and look for the firehose down a set of stairs.
Throw the hose down to Songbird and pull her up, then pick up your weapons from the bag she brought.

Getting to the Monorail
Follow Songbird until she tells you that Myers is also on her way to the airport. Lift the grate and hide from the guards. Keep moving forward while hiding from Reed and Myers; you can also peek out the vent to eavesdrop on their conversation.
After exiting the shaft, enter the elevator and go down to the main hall. The NUSA soldiers will be fighting the OS Guards here. From the elevator, stay on the second floor—don't cross to the other side, and go down from the opposite end of the hall.
Once you reach the first objective marker since exiting the elevator, keep moving past the gunfights and into the exact construction area you were before.
Instead of following the objective path, head below the scaffolding to avoid most NUSA soldiers. Go up the middle stairs and kill any nearby guards, but try your best not to alarm the rest of the room.
When you call the elevator, hide in a corner since three soldiers will be inside. Head inside the elevator and get to the monorail station when the area is cleared.
- You'll have some time to catch your breath in the lounge area.
- If you have Level 15 Technical Ability, you can offer to check Songbird's cyberware.
When you're done talking to her, get her up and proceed down the terminal. The attack chopper will be hunting you both down this linear hallway. It will stop shooting periodically; when it does, run and find cover.
A Black Ops HMG Operative will come and open the barricaded gate—kill him and go inside. Once you're clear from the chopper, reach the maglev station to take her to the monorail and straight to the launch pad.

Defend the Control Tower
While initially quiet, the control tower is trapped with several NUSA operatives waiting to ambush you. Get to high ground and kill all of them. Get inside the control tower and defend Songbird from the incoming NUSA operatives while she gets the monorail to come.
- When the attack chopper arrives once more, it's your sign to stick close to the control tower.
Songbird will need to get past the Blackwall, but she won't survive on her own, requiring you to act as a proxy. When the Blackwall Daemons she's uploading through you is complete, you'll be prompted to release the pulse that'll annihilate every enemy in front of you.
Pick Songbird up and use the Black Wall pulse to get you and her safely to the monorail.
Save Songbird or Choose Yourself | Major Choice
When you arrive at the departure station with Songbird, she'll reveal that the neural matrix can only be used once and that she was lying about curing both of you the whole time.
You can call Reed to grab Songbird at the tram, pick her up, and bring her to the spaceship.

Call Reed | Reed'll take care of you. | You'll hand her over to Reed, unlocking the main job, Through Pain to Heaven. |
- Choosing to hand Songbird over here will result in the same outcome as giving her up during the confrontation with Reed in the walkway.
- Doing this will unlock the Through Pain to Heaven Main Job.
When confronted by Reed on the walkway, you'll have many options to hand her over or kill him during the dialogue.?
The dialogue below is the last chance you'll have to change the ending you get from this mission.
Choice | Outcome |
---|---|
Reed, dammit! | You'll initiate the slow-mo sequence where you need to kill Reed. |
Holster weapon | All yours, but you'll help me live on. | Reed will take So Mi, and you'll unlock the next main job later. |
Holster weapon | Take her. Don't want nothin' in return. | Reed will take So Mi, but you won't access the next main job. |
Draw weapon | Sorry, man. | You'll initiate the slow-mo sequence where you need to kill Reed. |
If you draw your weapon while talking to him, you'll need to kill him during the slow-mo sequence; otherwise, he'll kill you, and then you'll have to reload from your last save point.
- Killing Reed will save Songbird, achieving the King of Wands ending.
- If you decide to get rid of Reed, be sure to pick up his iconic tech pistol, Pariah, next to his body.
If you hand So Mi over to Reed, he'll ask you why, and you can tell him the truth about the cure. He'll then take her inside an FIA air vehicle and tell you that you'll hear from him shortly about the operation.
