Everything You Need To Know About Cyberpunk 2077's Endings
Listed below is everything you need to know about the five different endings in Cyberpunk 2077.
How Many Endings Are There?
There are five endings in total. Four standard endings and one secret ending.
These endings result in the following epilogue possibilities:
- Epilogue: Where Is My Mind
- Epilogue: All Along The Watchtower
- Epilogue: New Dawn Fades
- Epilogue: Path of Glory
- Epilogue: Path of Least Resistance
Do Life Paths Have Special Endings?
No. Your Life Path
may change your experiences along the way but not the overall ending.
Cyberpunk 2077 has multiple drastically different endings, all of which diverge from a single point and have different unlock requirements before that point in order to access them.
Here are all the endings we’ve found, including what you need to do to reach them and the major choices that occur during them.
How To Beat Cyberpunk 2077
First things first, every ending begins at the same “Point of No Return” mission called Nocturne Op55N1.
This has the player meet Hanako Arasaka at a restaurant called Embers, and you will be warned before starting this mission that there’s no coming back from it, so we’d recommend saving right beforehand.
Additionally, beating the game will create a special save file at this moment that you can then reload, which will also add a few simple bonus items to your inventory, allowing you to pick-up right before it and complete more side content.
All Ending Rewards
- Where Is My Mind Rewards
- Johnny's Tank Top
- Johnny's Aviators
- All Along The Watchtower Rewards
- Aldecaldos Rally Bolero Jacket
- New Dawn Fades Rewards
- Aldecaldos Rally Bolero Jacket
- Liberty PRIDE
Choice: Call Your Romantic Partner or Not
After Misty leaves you to decide, Johnny suggests that you call anyone that wish to say goodbye to. Here, you'll be given the opportunity to call your romantic partner - if you have one! See our Romance Guide for even more information.
Depending on your decision, it will have a minor consequence in your Epilogue. While not super impactful on the main ending, the choice will simply be a fun option to play out should you have built a relationship with a particular character.
- Calling Your Love Interest: Calling your love interest will allow you to say your final goodbye, as you're not certain if you'll see them again. Saying goodbye will also cause the character in question to make an appearance during the Epilogue - this may depend on your ending though!
- Goodbyes Aren't My Style: Should you choose not to call your love interest or simply don't have one, you'll be on your own during the epilogue.
Choice: Who to Team Up With to Raid Arasaka Tower
From here, you go to the roof of Misty’s Esoterica and can choose from five possible routes, all of which are dependent on the side jobs that you have completed.
Here are each of the endings, how to unlock them, and how they can differ. If you're looking for something specific, click the links below to jump to...
Ending 1: Hanako's Path (Trust Arasaka)
Choosing Hanako's Path is the first option that is available without doing any side content at all.
To unlock this ending, simply follow the path of Nocturne Op55N1 to meet Hanako at Embers, and then choose to trust her when speaking to her inside the restaurant.
If you would like to play out this ending you will need to select the following options when prompted.
- "Think trusting Arasaka's risky but worth it."
- "[Take omega-blockers] Yeah. Don't be mad.
After a series of final missions, you will eventually reach an epilogue called "Where Is My Mind" where you are given one last significant choice.
For a complete walkthrough that follows Hanako's path, click the links below.
For details on that choice and what happens during this ending, open the spoiler box below:
Where Is My Mind Epilogue
Following your collapse after capturing Yorinobu, you wake up in an Arasaka facility in a space station, where Johnny has finally been removed from your head and "shredded" as promised, but lasting damage has been done to your mind and body as well.
Take place over what is assumed to be several weeks, V is stuck in a repetitive cycle that sees them completing the same tests - Q/A, Rubix Cube, and Cardio - only for them to have the same 'failed' results every time.
During this madness, V will finally be allowed phone privileges and will have the option to call their romantic interest, along with their friends and family.
As you can imagine, V's loved ones are excited to hear from them but also disappointed in the fact that V had chosen to cooperate with Arasaka. Most of V's phone calls will end in disappointment, as they ask for them to come back to Earth immediately and to be checked over by some real doctors on Earth.
Following the phone calls and several, more increasingly frustrating tests and a mental breakdown by V, Takemura or Dr. Hellman will arrive to speak with V.
"'Note:' "Takemura's appearance during this scene will only occur should V have opted to save him during Play It Safe. If V failed to save Takemura, Hellman will instead take his place.
Here, they'll inform you that while your mind will heal, the Relic caused permanent damage to your body, and you only have six months to live no matter what.
"'This is where you are given a choice:'" either sign your life away to Arasaka to have your mind placed in Mikoshi until you can potentially be brought back later, or refuse their offer and return to Earth with the knowledge that you will soon die.
While significant character-wise, this choice is entirely a personal one as it will essentially only change the final cutscene you receive shortly after, which will show either V giving up their mind or heading back to Earth.
Ending 2: Ask for Rogue's Help
Choosing Rogue's Path will require the completion of several Side Jobs.
In order to unlock Rogue's ending, you must complete the series of Side Jobs that are centered around Johnny Silverhand BEFORE entering Embers to meet Hanako. You will need to have completed the following Side Jobs:
Johnny Silverhand's questline begins with the mission Chippin’ In, which is given to you after speaking to Johnny during a Main Job called Tapeworm.
Once done, you can follow Nocturne Op55N1 as usual, but now when you reach the rooftop you will also have the option to let Johnny take control and storm Arasaka with assistance from Rogue.
After that, you will be given one final choice later on that drastically alters which of two epilogues you will experience with the options being "Path of Glory" or "New Dawn Fades"
For a complete walkthrough that follows Rogue's path, click the links below.
If you would like to play out this ending, you will need to select the following options when prompted.
- "Think you and Rogue should go."
- "[Take pseudoendotrizine] I am. Do your thing, Johnny.
For details on that choice and what happens during this ending, open the spoiler box below:
Path of Glory Epilogue
With the decision to return V to their body, you will awaken in a fancy penthouse. As it turns out, quite a few months have passed since V returned to Night City following their raid on Arasaka Tower.
So much so that V has finally achieved what they had initially set out to do - to become a Night City legend. Taking it a step further, V has become the Queen/King of the Afterlife following Rogue's demise.
Depending on your romantic interest, V will awake next to them in bed. Following a short conversation, V decides to head for a shower.
To no surprise, though, upon entering the shower, V begins to suffer another Relic malfunction, causing them to cough up even more blood.
Following their shower, head over to the bed and get changed - yes, we spotted those gold plated boots too. Now dressed, head downstairs into the kitchen and speak with your romantic interest.
Here, you'll discover that V has been hiding the fact that their condition has been worsening over the path several months and will continue to avoid any conversation regarding it. Unhappy about the situation and feeling as if their connection is drifting apart, they will storm outside. Following them, V will learn that they have decided to leave, as they can no longer bare witness to there deteriorating condition, especially if V is going to continue risking their life for each new mission.
In the background, an AV can be seen landing at the other end of the penthouse, which has arrived to take V to their ultimate 'final' mission - a heist on the Crystal Palace.
With one final goodbye, head towards the AV and climb inside. After a somewhat lengthy ride through Night City, V will arrive at the Afterlife to meet with the client regarding the upcoming heist.
Using the elevator to reach the ground floor, speak with Emmerick by the door before heading inside.
Once your conversation has finished, head to the bar and have one 'final' drink with Claire, who states that it was a popular tradition that Rogue started before every big mission.
Once you're finished with your drink, head to the nearby booth and meet with the client, as he gives V one final rundown of the mission while also questioning her skill and loyalty.
As the conversation ends, the screen will fade to black, and V will now appear in space.
Following another conversation with the somewhat 'shady' client, equip your weapons and grab your helmet as you make your final preparations.
Once you're ready, open the air hatch and watch as the final cutscene begins to play - which will eventually fade to black just as V begins to spacewalk towards the large Crystal Palace Casino.
Alternative Endings:No Romantic Interest:
Should you have not romanced anybody, V will wake up alone and instead receive a call from Emmerick, the Afterlife bodyguard.
Secret Ending (Rogue Survives):
Should you have selected the secret ending, Rogue will still be alive and kicking it as the queen of the Afterlife. Upon arriving at the Afterlife bar, Rogue will stop you, and you will both discuss the final job and share a drink before V meets with the client.
New Dawn Fades Epilogue
Like most of the epilogues in Cyberpunk 2077, this final mission is heavily story-driven and will only require V Like most of the epilogues in Cyberpunk 2077, this final mission is heavily story-driven and will only require V to respond to questions and perform simple interactions when prompted. It is worth mentioning that your choices throughout the Epilogue will not affect the story's outcome.
Awakening in a seemly unknown room, you'll learn that Johnny has made a new little life for himself, away from V's friends and family in an Abandoned Apartment block near the outskirts of the city in Pacifica.
Following a confirmation message regarding an order that is ready to be collected, Johnny will need to start packing as he plans to leave Night City behind once and for all - but not before he can visit both Rogue and V.
Before you start packing, though, you'll have the opportunity to explore the apartment. Here, you'll find several Shards, a Replica of Johnny's Samurai jacket, other random items such as cards.
Having collected Rogue's gun, your bus ticket, and your duffle bag, exit the room and call Steve through the intercom at the end of the hallway as you'll need a ride. During Johnny's conversation with Steve, it becomes quite apparent that the two have formed quite the bond over music - almost becoming a friend and mentor/role model for the kid.
Happy to give Johnny a ride, follow Steve outside the apartment block, where you'll run into his father, who happens to be waiting by the exit. Threatening Steve not to leave, he'll eventually turn abusive, slapping Steve across the face. Here, you'll have the chance to stick up for Steve.
With Steve's father dealt with, it's time to head to the music shop. Along the way, Johnny and Steve will discuss music and life, but you will have the option to skip head during this scene, as the drive is quite lengthy.
Once you arrive at the Time Machine music shop, head inside with Steve and speak with the store owner as you look for a new six-string electric. Despite the owners showing, Johnny's looking for something a little higher-end - a real instrument.
Upon entering the back room, you'll find some vintage axes - the Deluze Orphean and the Tensor Paradize. Here, you'll have the choice to select from either guitar - the choice you make will not affect the story. Once you're happy with your selection, watch as Johnny jams out with Steve, reliving his former days as he encourages the kid to keep it up.
Happy with the guitar, pay the owner and make your way to the cemetery - it's now time to pay a visit to both V and Rogue. Along the way, listen as Steve and Johnny make small talk about the city and the looming Corp war.
Having finally arrived, make your way to the niche you ordered for both V and Rogue. Letting go of both Rogue's gun and V's necklace, Johnny will share a few final words, apologizing for the outcome of the events that unfolded during their last job.
Leaving behind their mementos, head outside and speak with Steve one final time, where you'll share some final advice. Now that you're ready to leave, board the nearby bus and settle in for the long ride.
Before the bus can take off, Steve will rush over and state that Johnny left his guitar behind. With no intentions of ever keeping the guitar for himself, Johnny leaves Steve with one final gift.
As the bus takes off, watch the final cutscene play out as Johnny leaves Night City once and for all.
Ending 3: Ask Panam for Help
Choosing Panam's Path will require the completion of several Side Jobs.
In order to unlock Panam's ending, you will need to have completed the Side Jobs that center around the Aldecaldos, BEFORE entering Embers to meet Hanako.
You will need to have completed Panam's following Side Jobs:
Once done, you can follow Nocturne Op55N1 as usual, but now when you reach the rooftop you will also have the option to handle this yourself and call Panam for help.
If you would like to play out this ending, you will need to select the following options when prompted.
- "Gonna ask Panam for help."
- "[Take omega-blockers] Yep. Gonna do this with the nomads.
After that, you will be given one final choice later on that drastically alters which of the two epilogues you will experience.
In order to reach the "New Dawn Fades or All Along The Watchtower" epilogues, you will need to have completed the following Main Jobs:
For details on that choice and what happens during this ending, open the spoiler box below:
All Along The Watchtower Epilogue
Having chosen to return to their body, the All Along the Watchtower Epilogue will kick off with V in Panam's vehicle that's pulled over to the side of the road.
Once you're ready, exit the car and speak with Panam as she overlooks Night City nearby.
Speaking of the events that just unfolded during Belly Of The Beast and the consequences they hold, the pair will agree that it's time to move on from Night City, as the city is nothing but an illusion that creates false promises. Ready to set off, say your final goodbyes to the city and get in the car with Panam.
Following a lengthy ride to their temporary makeshift camp, Panam and V - and eventually Mitch - will talk about their raid on Arasaka and how they plan to escape over the border without being seen.
Once you arrive at the camp and if you managed to romance Judy as female V and called her during Nocturne Op55N1, Panam will reveal that someone special is waiting for you behind the camp.
Following the waypoint marker, you'll find Judy speaking with Carol about her work as a BD editor. With thoughts on her mind, Carol will leave V and Judy to talk alone, in which they will share one final moment as they discuss everything that Night City seemly promised them.
Upon finishing your conversation with Judy, make your way to Panam and Mitch - they can be found just outside the front of the tent. Here, V will discuss the final plans to escape across the border without drawing any attention to themselves.
Once you're ready to leave, get in the Basilisk and talk with Panam as you follow your crew through the incoming storm. Once you reach the border tunnel, watch as the game's final cutscene plays out.

Ending 4: How to Unlock The Path of Least Resistance (Suicide Ending)
Unlike other final ending choices, The Path of Least Resistance is available without the completion of any additional side content. You should be warned that this particular ending is not recommended, as the game will end with one final cutscene and will contain no epilogue.
If you are curious and would like to play out this ending you will need to select the following options when prompted.
- Select any ending option.
- "Could also put this all to rest."
- "[Toss pills] I know. Exactly what we're gonna do.
To find out how this ending plays out, click the spoiler tag below for more details!
Path of Least Resistance Epilogue
This ending is by far the shortest on offer and does not include an epilogue. When opting to toss away the pills, a cutscene will begin and will see both V and Johnny discussing the choice. Despite Johnny's disagreement, V shares that this is the cleanest, least 'bloody' option and if they were to choose any other path, more people would die.
Agreeing to go along with the plan, Johnny and V exchange their final words together, sharing that they've both learnt something from each other and enjoyed their time together while they had it.
As the camera slowly begins to pan out over the city, you'll eventually hear a gunshot - signifying that V had taken their own life. Throughout the credits, V's friends and romantic interest will each share a video message. As you can imagine, V's friends are shocked and not happy by the decision and wished there could have been a different outcome.
Ending 5: Secret Ending - (Don't Fear) The Reaper
Choosing the Secret Ending will require the completion of a number of Side Jobs and have reached a certain percentage of friendship towards Johnny.
How to Unlock the Don't Fear the Reaper Ending
In order to unlock the secret (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending, you must have completed a series of Side Jobs that are centered around Johnny Silverhand BEFORE entering Embers to meet with Hanako.
You will need to have completed the following Side Jobs:
Along with the following Side Jobs, you will also need to have a relationship with Johnny that's at least over 70%. If that's not the case, you can opt to select the following answers during his major Side Job, Chippin' In.
You can find the correct dialogue needed for Chippin' In below.
- "Let's do something about that." Be sure to inscribe Johnny's initials when prompted.
- "The Guy who Saved My Life"
- "Nah, fucked that up too."
- "What do you want from me?"
- "OK. But as second chances go, this is your last."
- "You were a real dick in the beginning."
- "When you said you let down your friends..."
- "Yeah, I'll call Rogue."
If you're still curious and want more details, you can check out our How to Correctly Respond to Johnny in the Oil Fields guide for even more details.
If you would like to play out this ending, you will need to select the following options when prompted.
- "Think you and Rogue should go."
- You will now want to wait approximately 5 minutes on this menu, as after some time has past, Johnny will speak up and offer you another solution.
- "Let's hear this plan."
However, if V does not die, you'll have the option to choose between two endings after reaching the Mikoshi Access Point:
The Sun Achievement - Cross the bridge and enter Cyberspace forever: Path of Glory
Temperance Achievement - Enter the well to return to V's Body: New Dawn Fades
Ending 6: Phantom Liberty Secret Ending - The Tower
The Tower ending is a secret ending that was added to the base game with the addition of the Phantom Liberty expansion.
To achieve The Tower ending, you'll need to betray Songbird at the end of Killing Moon by handing her over to Reed (King of Swords) or refusing to kill her at the end of Somewhat Damaged (King of Cups).
- For the option during Killing Moon, you can hand her over to Reed anytime after she confesses the truth about the cure—you can immediately call Reed while in the shuttle or holster your weapon at any point during the confrontation with him on the walkway.
- When you finally reach Songbird at the end of Somewhat Damaged, she will ask you to kill her. To get The Tower ending, choose? That's no solution?and?Won't do it.
You later wake up in what seems like an FIA-operated hospital in Langley. Reed will be the first person you speak to since the operation.
He'll explain everything that though the operation was a success, you lost the ability to use any Cyberware, thus ending your career as a Night City merc.
On top of that, the operation that initially called for several weeks of rehab actually put you in a coma for two years.
As you try to reach your friends, V soon realizes the world he once knew is no longer the same.
- Viktor thought you had died after disappearing for two years. He'll tell you to visit his clinic to see if the no-chrome situation is true.
- Panam has left NC, and her number is no longer operational. You can only leave her a voicemail.
- River needed money for Randy's rehab, so he sold a ton of police secrets to Trauma Team. He'll refuse to see you.
- Kerry's career is even more prominent now, but he'll be too busy to see you.
- Judy will be glad to hear that you're alive, but she's now married to a girl named Bianca and living in Pittsburgh.
Delamain will drive you back to Vik's clinic while updating you that Arasaka has taken most of their business out of Night City.
Misty's shop is long gone and is replaced by a Zetatech cyberware store.
During the check-up, Vik will confirm that he can do nothing about your Chrome-less situation.
As two street thugs attack you for money, you run into Misty, who helps you get up. Before leaving for an ancient forest in Poland, she tells you that she's convinced you'll figure out your life no matter what.
The scene ends with V walking into a crowd, continuing life as just another face in the crowd.
How Do I Fill Cyberpunk 2077’s Percentages?
This is a tricky one. Certain quests, mainly main jobs, will increase the three percentages in the menu, but don’t expect to have them maxed out before beating the game.
For example, the left-most bar will only reach 100% in the epilogue of one of the endings listed above, not before, while the right-most bar will never be able to reach 100%. Therefore, don’t take these as progress indicators, because that’s really not what they are.
For even more information regarding Cyberpunk 2077's percentages, be sure to check out our complete guide that details exactly how you can increase Johnny's relationship throughout the game.
