Following The River: Major Decisions and Consequences For Romancing River

• Only female body V characters can romance River.
• In order to romance River during this mission, you must always select the option that shows interest in River.
• You must select the option to kiss River both times when presented with the opportunity. This leads to the sexual encounter that plays out via a cutscene.
• If you want to lock in this romance for the rest of the game, you must select the "I feel good around you" option the next day. If you don't, you and River will remain friends.

Following The River Walkthrough

When River calls you for this side job, you must accept his invitation. This will happen 24 hours after completing The Hunt. Head to Joss' house and wait for River to arrive at the designated location.

The rest of the side job plays out basically on auto-pilot: Stir the jumbalaya, talk to River, grab rice from the kitchen (and optionally, talk to Joss in here), and then sit with River on the patio. After that, play the game with the children (you can let the children win by not eliminating as many targets as them).

After this, attend dinner with River, Joss, and her children. After some conversation, the children will poke fun at you and River maybe being a couple. When they ask who things River and V would be a great couple, select the "I do" option. River will get up and ask you to follow him. Do so. Open the gate for him and follow him up to the water tower.

Be sure to grab the Crash iconic weapon on the water tower before sitting next to River.

Up here, you should always select the options that show interest in River. You must select the option to kiss River both times when presented with the opportunity. Below is the fastest way to the get to the sexual encounter although you can choose other options: what's important is that you select the "[Kiss]" option when that is presented. Choosing otherwise will prevent the sexual encounter from happening.

• Select "Your pistol?"
• Select "That a pick-up line?"
• Select any of the three pick up lines after that.
• Select the other two after that.
• Select "I can see what you're doin'."
• Select "Just don't fall in love."
• Select "[Kiss]"

This leads to the sexual encounter that plays out via a cutscene.

The next day, select the options to tell him about your situation and, when presented, select the "[Kiss]" option to lock in the romance.

You will receive 1225 EXP. This concludes the side job.
