The Algorithm
The first episode of Battleborn is called The Algorithm. It's best to use a Battleborn Hero with long range attacks, such as Oscar Mike, Montana, and Whiskey Foxtrot. If you use a Hero that specializes in melee attacks, you'll have a tough time at the final boss.
Make your way across the bridge up ahead. You'll run into a few weak minions along the way. The small minions on the bottom are no trouble, but the snipers on the top can be annoying if you're not using long range weapons. If you have melee attacks only, which is not recommended in this mission, you'll need to climb a set of stairs to reach the snipers. Keep moving left and right to avoid fire.
The objective here is to find an entrance. Reach the way point to find three glowing yellow shields. These will block you from entering the building. Locate the crystal shard to the south (use your mini-map) and destroy it to lower the shields.
Defeat the remaining minions and enter the building through the now opened vents. You may want to keep your distances from the rectangular minions. They will explode after a short time. More minions will come out to fight within the facility. You can buy an attack drone with 500 shards to help you out.
Survive the minion ambush to find H3NCHM4N.
Boss Battle: H3NCHM4N
H3NCHM4N will have a protective shield around him that absorbs all damage. Attack the shield to disable it and leave him vulnerable for a short time. If you get too close, H3NCHM4N will push you back with a strong melee attack. Attack from afar and H3NCHM4N will use an electric ball attack. The electric balls can be avoided much more easily than the melee attacks.
After a decent amount of damage is done to H3NCHM4N, he will create a clone of himself. The clone is a bit weaker in terms of defense, but it can still attack the same way as the original. Take it out and focus on the original H3NCHM4N once again. If you're having a little trouble, search the area for chests with pickups. You might be able to find extra health, shields, and more. Don't forget about the attack drone you can build with 500 shards at the drone nodes.
A door will open after clearing the boss battle that leads deeper into the facility. Stand on the yellow pad deeper in to activate the bridge bulkhead. This will lead you to a bridge with even more minions. The minions will spawn from teleporters. Destroy these teleporters to prevent more from coming, but watch out for snipers on the top of the towers.
The next step is to disable the shield gate. To do this, you must destroy two shield crystals on the bridge. If you can't find them, follow the cables with the arrows. You must follow the opposite direction of the arrows to lead to the crystals. Destroy both to lower the shields, and don't forget to pick up the shards! Continue on until you hear some dialogue between ISIC and Geoff.
Boss Battle: Arachnis, the Spider King
The first step in this battle is to activate the fumigation system. Do this by standing on the yellow pad to the west. Look for the way point. This will bring out Geoff / Arachnis.
With Geoff on the field you can begin doing damage. Try to stay behind him to avoid damage. He will attack with melee attacks and by calling out more minions. Once enough damage is done, he will use a shield that blocks all damage, then run away.
Follow the way point to find Geoff inside one of the nearby facilities. Inside are three more fumigation system pads. Stand on all three to activate flush Geoff out. Of course, you'll have to defeat a few minions while your standing on the pads. Long range weapon and skills are useful here.
Once the system is activated, quickly run out before you lose too much health. Geoff will come out into the middle of the battlefield again. This time he will place red spiderwebs around the field. If you step on one, an explosive minion will pop out. Like last time, deal damage until he raises his shields and runs off.
Enter the other facility once the door opens to find Geoff upgrading yet again. You will need to activate the fumigation systems just like before, but this time you won't have any cover from Geoff's guns. Hopefully you can find an overshield in one of the nearby chests. Another option is to have a shield skill handy. If anything, make sure your health and own shields are high before attempting to activate the shields. You can withstand some damage before activating the system.
With the fumigation system activated, run back out to the main area and defeat Geoff. He will attack with guns and minions if you're far away, or he will use a stomp attack if you're close by. Geoff won't run away anymore, so give him all you have.
With Geoff defeated, the door into the cavern ahead will open up. A number of shields will be active throughout the cave. If you step into them, your shields and health will begin to drop. Destroy the nearby shard crystals to deactivate these shields and clear the path onward. Disabling the shields will also activate the minions. Prepare for battle as you destroy the crystals throughout the cave.
The final shard crystal will disable the vent security system. Jump into the vent and follow the path to a large drill. Activate this drill by standing on another yellow pad. A tough enemy will come to stop you.
Boss Battle: Galactic Emperor
The Galactic Emperor is much tougher than the previous bosses. Target the glowing core on his chest to deal massive damage, and keep moving to avoid his attacks.
After he takes enough damage, he will descend into the ground and summon Frigid Guardians. These are weaker than the Galactic Emperor, but they will not take any damage unless you specifically target the glowing cores on their chest.
Defeat all the Frigid Guardians to bring out the Galactic Emperor again. He will encase himself in a large block of ice, which will slowly restore his health. Quickly destroy the ice before his health gauge gets too full. Continue attacking until he is finally defeated.
Continue along the path towards ISIC. Don't forget to open as many chests as possible to get some power ups and bonuses. A number of minions will pop out once you reach the bridge with magma rivers. Destroy all the minions and stand on the pad at the end of the bridge to reach ISIC.
Boss Battle: ISIC MAGNUS
ISIC has four legs with four tubes on each shin. Target these tubes to disable ISIC for a few seconds. On Normal difficulty, one leg will always be pointed towards you. Once the tube is destroyed, ISIC's weak spot will be revealed beneath him. Quickly attack this core to deal massive damage before he recovers.
You must do this same technique at least two more times to destroy ISIC's body. It'll get harder each time because minions will come out and begin attacking. If you see the floor glow red, quickly move to a non-glowing spot to avoid damage.
Once ISIC's health is down to 25%, the metallic body will be destroyed. ISIC's skull will begin to fly around the field. One of his attacks will launch you into the air as well. This part is nearly impossible to clear with melee attacks, which is why a long rang attacking Battleborn was recommended. Use your long range attacks here to defeat ISIC. Keep an eye on the mini-map and the damage indicator to find his position. Defeat ISIC to clear the mission.
