The Ostrich boss fight occurs deeps into the southeast area of Animal Well, where you acquire the Yoyo. Unlike some of the other boss battles in Animal Well, you might not even realize you are doing the Ostrich boss battle until the final section of it, since it appears to be a normal puzzle. You will need the Yoyo and Bubble Wand to complete this puzzle.

Ostrich Boss Battle

The Ostrich boss battle takes place across a series of room, starting with you needing to free the Ostrich from the wheel shown in the above image.

The boss area starts where the player icon is on the above map, with the stretch of about four rooms to the left of that containing the whole puzzle.

Starting here you need to head to the room with the Ostrich on the wheel. Using the Yoyo, get it to switch directions, so the blocks in the lower part of the rooms are moving to the right. After that head to the room left of the Ostrich, which can be done by jumping through a secret wall directly left of the Ostrich.

In this room you need to get up top in the top right corner, which is where you can find the first button. Hit that, and ride the bottom set of blocks all the way back to the second room, the one with the fans.

In this room, you need to ride the blocks to the right to jump up on that small ledge. Head to the right, where you can find a green button, which will turn the fans in this room on. Using a bubble from the Bubble Wand ride the left-most fan to the top area.

That will bring you to upper area in this room, where you need to jump across the top of the two cages. The jump from the second cage to the far left ledge can be a bit difficult, but you can use a bubble to save yourself some trouble.

Continue to the left to hit the second of the three buttons to free the Ostrich. Now position yourself in front of the Ostrich.

The final button is the one underneath the Ostrich, but if you tried it earlier you likely noticed that it won't stay pressed. You will want to stand to the right of the Ostrich and hit the button with the Yoyo. The reason is that as soon as you hit the button, the Ostrich and the wheel drop down, which will squish you if you stand on the button.

Once the Ostrich drops, you need to do an Indiana Jones style running away sequence, fleeing to the right as the Ostrich chases you in the wheel.

Continue running until you reach the starting room.

In this room, jump on the green button. This will drop out the floor to the left of the button. The Ostrich will fall in the hole, hitting the four buttons in the hole. This defeats the Ostrich and unlocks the door on the right, which leads to the Flame that is your reward for defeating the Ostrich.
