The Lantern area is the fifth and final section of Animal Well, which is only accessible after gathering the four flames from the other four sections. Deep in this area is the Manticore boss, which will require you to complete a short gauntlet, using the four tools you gathered from the previous areas.

Manticore Boss Fight

The Manticore Gauntlet takes place in the lower levels of the Lantern area.

There are four rooms set up in a square shape that you will need to do multiple loops through to hit four different buttons to open the big door. During this gauntlet you need to contend with the Manticore following you firing off laser eyes. If you die, all progress will reset, except for one fan, that stays powered on even after you die. The Manticore can be stunned by hitting it with a firecracker, but the best thing to do is to move as fast as possible.

From the above room, head up and to the right, to the room with the fan.

The first time through, drop down the hole to the far right.

Here you need to throw the Disc to hit the button in the small tunnel, which opens the door in the top right of this room. Run to the right and hit the button to drop down. Now head to the left.

Back in here you need to loop back up to the fan room again.

This time you need to drop down to the left here. You will fall in front of the door you opened on the last loop, head to the left.

This will hit the first button. After you jump up and run to the right.

That puts you in the bottom left area where the fruit is in the above image. In the small square in the upper right of that small area is the button that turns on the fan in this room. Drop back down and you will start another loop.

Get back here and go up and over to the room with the now powered fan.

Now you need to ride a bubble up to the top area using the fan. This is one of the spots where using a firecracker to stun the Manticore is pretty important, as the bubble doesn't rise very high.

Up here you need to run to the left side and head down this little area, hitting all of the buttons in your path, which will open the door in the lower middle area of this image.

Here you can hit the second button for the big door. Head back into the main area and up top for the final section of this area.

Head into the newly opened door and go past the green button and drop down. This will put you in a spot where you need to hit the third button using the Yoyo. Jump back up and drop the slink on the green button. This will lift the block on the left side of this room, head over there and drop down to the fourth button.

Head straight up from here and drop down back into this room. Now exit out the bottom left area which is now open after hitting the four buttons. You have two more rooms to clear before this over.

Here you need to raise this platform with the crank and jump across.

That brings you to this area where you need to jump up top and follow the path to the bottom left area of this room. This room is a great time to use a firecracker, since there isn't really any coverage from the lasers in this room.

You will drop down into this room, where all you need to do is jump on the TNT and set it off. Just keep in mind that you can still get attacked and die in this room, so don't waste any time. Once you set off the explosion the Manticore will be defeated.
