In the southeast section of Animal Well, there is a large and very aggressive Ostrich guarding a locked door. This Ostrich attacks you on sight, so you will need to keep moving and minimize the amount of time spent in this room. In order to unlock the door being guarded by the Ostrich, you will need to hit four buttons to unlock it, and you need to do it without dying, as that will reset your progress.

How to Get Past the Ostrich

In order to unlock the door, you need to hit four buttons, which are located in small holes underneath the Ostrich. There are five holes, however there are only three holes, as the first two sets of holes lead to the same small rooms.

Since the goal here is to unlock the door and go through quickly, the most efficient route is to start on the right side of the room and work towards the door.

While you are in these holes, the Ostrich can stretch its neck down into the hole to reach you, in order to not take damage, whenever you see it stretching into the hole, get as far from it as possible. Once it retracts its neck, there is a brief moment where you can escape before it attempts to reach you again.

There is one button in the right hole, one in the middle hole, and two in the left hole.

Not every part of each hole is lit, depending where you are standing, so you may need to jump around and find the correct path.

With all four buttons pressed, you can pop back out and make for the now unlocked door. The Ostrich does not go away, but you can avoid taking damage on the surface by running to your destination as fast as possible. The Ostrich is located in the room shown by the map image below.
