The Slink area, which is the northeast region of Animal Well, concludes with a face off against the giant Chameleon that you may have spotted a few times throughout the area. Once you reach the Chameleon fight, it's fairly simple to beat, although there isn't much room for error.

Chameleon Boss Fight Walkthrough

You will drop down into this boss fight from the above room, with the Chameleon on the left, while you are on a platform with five porcupines. The Chameleon will shoot out its tongue in an attempt to snag you can eat you, which is an instant death if you get snagged.

What you need to do here is get the Chameleon to eat the five porcupines instead. Once the Chameleon shoots out it's tongue, it will land wherever you were standing when it started the animation. The easiest way to do this is to stay in front of the porcupines, on the left side of them. Since they are walking to the left, they will walk straight into the Chameleon's tongue. Once you see the tongue come out, head to the left out of the way, so make sure you have enough room on the platform to dodge the incoming tongue. You can dodge to the right, but your reaction time will need to be quicker.

Every couple of tongue attacks, the Chameleon's eye will turn red, at which point it will shoot out five red tears across the platform that you need to avoid. Once all five have been fired, the eye will return to its normal color and the Chameleon will return to shooting its tongue at you. Once all five porcupine's have been eaten, the Chameleon will leave, letting you exit this room to the left, where you can find the V. Flame.
