Mission 6: Convoy, Swiss Alps

This mission consists of two parts. In the first part, you move on foot along a stretch of highway guarded by enemy soldiers. You'll need your sniping skills here. You'll then drive a car in pursuit of a convoy of eight vehicles. You must destroy these vehicles before they escape through a tunnel.

You start out at the end of a valley with a highway running through it. Immediately turn left and locate Heavy Armor on the ground. Take it. Approach a nearby tree. Use this tree as cover while you select the Infrared Sniper Rifle and look for an enemy solider on your side of the road. Kill the soldier.

Switch to your PK7. From this tree, run diagonally across the road and up a slope on the other side. You'll meet another soldier atop the slope. Kill him with a few PK7 shots and collect a case of ammunition near the spot where he fell.

Move forward to the first visible tree on the ridge. Stand behind the tree so that it shields you from a pair of soldiers on the opposite side of the road. Take out the two soldiers from here, then kill a soldier located farther along on your side of the road. Run forward from this tree to a nearby stand of trees. From behind these trees, view the area ahead. You'll see a final soldier patrolling near some roadblocks. Take him out with the Infrared Sniper Rifle as well.

With all of the soldiers gone, run past the roadblocks and parked vehicles. Up ahead and slightly to the right, you'll see a man standing in front of a garage. Congratulations, you've found Q, so don't shoot him!

Talk to Q. Your souped-up BMW will appear from the garage. Walk to the driver's side door and get in. Now you drive. You must follow the road and destroy a total of eight convoy vehicles before they escape through a tunnel. You'll find the black convoy vehicles easy to spot because they share the road only with large, slow construction vehicles.

If you want, you can destroy all eight convoy vehicles outright. However, a delay can gain you an extra life. Destroy seven of the eight cars as quickly as possible, then severely damage, but not quite destroy, the eighth. As your vehicles approach the mouth of a tunnel, a golden 007 will appear in the right lane, surrounded by cones. Grab this golden 007, then finish off the last vehicle before it gets all of the way through the tunnel. You accomplish your mission when you destroy the eighth vehicle.

This mission is perhaps the most difficult one so far, thanks largely to a brutal skiing sequence at the beginning. You'll get an Auto 9mm handgun for the second half of this mission, but we recommend using the Assault Rifle in most situations. To accomplish this mission, you must infiltrate the enemy camp, disable the security system, obtain a security pass, and eliminate Isagura.

You start this mission skiing down a hill. You'll ski through a rock arch and then the fun begins. You'll find this completely unlike the skiing in the first mission. In that mission, trees were your only real threat. In this one, you must watch out for trees and boulders, plus a few places where you can easily go flying off of the cliff. To beat this slope, you need to pay very close attention to your skiing. Expect to try the mission several times so that you memorize the locations of most trees and rocks.

As you follow the slope, watch for an opportunity to veer left into a wooded area. Enter the wooded area as soon as it appears. Do your best to shake your pursuers by running them into trees. Meanwhile, look for the Med Kits strewn through this area. Several wait for you and you'll need them later. You'll now go through a stretch of slope where you don't have many options about direction. Avoid enemies as best you can, moving away whenever they get close. Soon Bond will reach a spot with Med Kits lined up on the edge of a sheer cliff on the right.

Just after passing that cliff with the Med Kits, you'll enter a tunnel. At the end of the tunnel waits a jump. Make sure you have decent speed as you go off of the jump. Aim for a spot just to the right of a tree in the distance. A little while after the jump, Bond will go over another small ridge and see a thick grove of trees on the left. It looks like a nearly solid wall. Go to the right of this tree wall or you'll fall off a cliff.

A bit farther on, ski near the center of the trail and watch for a split. When it splits, the left half goes low and the right half goes high. Take the right half, which tends to be safer and leads you to another Med Kit. When you reach the Japanese arch, you can shed your skis.

Approach a large rock. From behind the rock you'll see a barracks to the left and assorted gear and a helicopter to the right. Run forward and left from the rock, gunning down a nearby guard with your Assault Rifle, until you get close to the barracks. Wait for more guards to come around the corner of the barracks and kill them when they do. When you see no more guards, approach the barracks door and press O to kick it in. Move in swiftly and kill the guard here. Select your Infrared Sniper Rifle, then collect Light Armor and ammo clips from between the bunk beds. Switch back to the Assault Rifle after you grab the gear.

Exit the barracks and gun down any nearby guards, using the edge of the barracks as cover. Run over to a nearby treaded vehicle and collect a golden 007 from behind it. Investigate several large stacks of crates behind the barracks. A trio of barrels sits against one of those stacks and Heavy Armor sits behind it. Detonate the barrels and come back later for the Heavy Armor.

Keep moving into new territory. A new building appears: a security shed. Enter this building after killing any nearby guards, then kill the guard inside. Do not shoot randomly through the door, though. If you accidentally shoot the computer in here, the mission will fail. After killing the guard, switch to the Infrared Sniper Rifle and collect clips from the floor. Switch back to the Assault Rifle and approach the computer on the table. Press O to disable the Security System.

Shoot any guards you see through the windows, then leave the shed and kill any others in sight. Go back and get the Heavy Armor, then return to this area and go through a gate in the middle of a big, gray wall. Beyond the gate, run toward a large stack of cargo and the treaded vehicle parked next to it, gunning down a pair of nearby guards as you do. When you reach the cargo stack, use it as cover while you scan this area for more guards and kill them as well. Collect an ammo clip from behind some oil barrels nearby.

Run to the top of a large metal tower. Upstairs, collect an ammo box and a Security Pass. Go back down. Notice the large structure partially covered with snow. Bond will find only one door leading into it. From the viewpoint of someone entering through the gray gate, the door is to the far right. Enter the door. Bond will find himself in a small chamber that may or may not contain guards. Follow a long hallway, collecting four Med Kits as you go. At the end of the hallway you'll see a door. Use your Fingerprint Scanner on the door to get through.

Now Bond must fight Isagura, a boss. To kill Isagura, equip your Infrared Sniper Rifle. Strafe around the room, staying as far away from Isagura as possible. You can try to keep the room's two pillars between the men. This sometimes interrupts Isagura's gunfire and sometimes he'll bounce a Gas Bomb off of a pillar and back into himself. When Isagura dies, a secret door opens. Walk through it to win the mission.
