Disney+ Adds TV-MA Marvel Netflix Shows & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - IGN The Fix: Entertainment
Disney Plus is expanding its programming to TV-MA territory, serving as the new hub for one-time Netflix originals Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders limited series, as well as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. With the Netflix original shows now on Disney+, this sets a new standard for the family-friendly programming the streaming service has been known for. Will #DisneyPlus edit certain #Marvel episodes from shows like The Punisher or Luke Cage will be edited slightly to omit certain scenes that may be too over-the-top for Disney's standards. You might remember back in 2020, the streaming giant altered a scene in the 1984 movie Splash, using CGI hair to cover up actress Daryl Hannah's naked butt. While mature content is to be expected with a TV-MA rating, Disney Plus isn't above editing or altering content in their programming. In other Marvel news, Patrick Stewart confirms that was indeed his voice you heard in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer premiere during the Super Bowl. And finally, check out this new poster Marvel Entertainment dropped off the police consultant known as Mr. Knight. Mr. Knight made his debut in Moon Knight Volume 7.
