Frustrating flawed potential that hasn't aged gracefully. Extremely interesting ideas and great vibe coupled with often clunky storytelling, unpredictable difficulty spikes, horrid checkpointing, and the occasional bit of miserably awkward platforming (with of course, frequent insta-fails.) Bolstered by remarkably competent technology for the era, inventive ideas, and a kooky vibe, it's worth a play if you're intrigued, but highly recommend playing on Easy for improved pacing and less frustration. (Difficulty settings, of course, cannot be adjusted after beginning. ?)
