595 Games in Library
This game is so ahead of its time in so many ways. It has that feeling of a Trails Falcom game in that all the characters have personalities and daily routines. The humour and silly moments make you laugh and smile, the art style is fantastic and the soundtrack wonderful to listen to.
Unfortunately what let's it all down in the lack of a fleshed out story and completely unsatisfying endings on the human and non-human sides. This game feels very much unfinished and as I've recently discovered there was a ton of the story that hit the cutting room floor.
Here's hoping we get a remastered version with the entire story added back in because if it wasn't for the recruiting this game doesn't have a lot there that motivates you to continue playing to the end.
I guess this review comes across kind of negative but I enjoyed my time playing this for over 80 hours. I just wish this would have satisfactorily rewarded the player for their time invested.
Finally getting around to playing through this series I'm pretty disappointed overall. I get the whole appeal of the overarching lore which I was intrigued by but I found most of the characters not very interesting, engaging or well developed.
Knowing this was supposed to be 6 games which was then crammed into 3 definately didn't help matters as the series just feels messy with important story chunks occuring outside of the games so you end up going are we supposed to know this? When did this happen?
Most definately does not live up to the hype.
If I have one critique is its way to short. Not necessarily a bad thing if you want a quick breezy time but I could have played an 80 hour version of this game and never been bored. Playing as a cat was super fun and the lore is something I wish was explored further. Also shout out to the composer as the music was outstanding.
