Played for the first time in 2024. Holds up well, can't believe this is a GameCube game. Does so much right while having very few flaws.
One of my favorite games of all time. Awesome soundtrack. Amazing art design. Tons to explore. Interesting lore. Cool upgrades. Great controls.
My only quibble with this game after many, many playthroughs on three platforms is that traversing the various biomes can be tedious, especially later in the game when you are fully powered up and need to backtrack to collect items. This is improved in later games in the Prime series and in no way should deter someone from playing this incredible game.
A perfect transition to 3D for the Metroid series. Fun and immersive world with an amazing soundtrack.
The soundscape in this game is incredible. Everything from the beam sounds to the creature sounds and the sound of the boost jump is perfect. The music is atmospheric and catchy. It is one of the best looking games as well, especially if you’re playing the remastered version. The world of Talon IV feels truly alien from the moment you set foot on the planet. The creatures are unique, the environments are varied and the world feels lived in. The scan visor felt futuristic at the time, although now it feels a little clunky. The pacing is a little off, but the overall level design is great and the puzzles are great as well. Truly incredible.

This game blew my mind in 2002. Having only played a bit of Super Metroid at a neighbor’s house in elementary school and never got that far, I was still always interested in Metroid’s creepy environment and music. I was then stoked to see a new FPS Metroid game on the GameCube.
Prime is a certified classic, regarded as one of my favorite games of all time. Exploration, isolation, unraveling a mystery…so good.
The Wii more controls on the Prime Trilogy for Wii are a great way to play too.
Amazing game. Incredibly immersive, world design is spectacular, soundtrack is one of the best in gaming.
Coming from the world of twin stick shooters this game can be intimidating. It might take an hour or two to get a grasp of the mechanics but it's so rewarding when you finally get a hold of it and start exploring and fighting across Metroid Prime's world.
