1. Secretlab Titan Evo series XL
Best Big and Tall Gaming Chair
We love the Secretlab Titan Evo series and are happy to see one of our favorite gaming chairs available in an XL model, which features a slightly larger form for big and tall gamers. You get a wide seat at 19.3 inches, while the bolsters on either side just add to that total width. Secretlab also uses a Class 4 lift that combines with the rest of its sturdy structure to support a hefty 395-pound max load.
The Titan Evo series XL doesn’t forget taller gamers, as it’s ready for individuals ranging from 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-9 with its high back. Of course, you still get all those ergonomic luxuries like integrated adjustable lumbar support, a magnetic neck pillow, and magnetic 4D armrests that you can swap out to get your optimal arm position. It doesn’t stop there, as your behind rests in a well-cushioned memory foam seat with cooling gel, and the base of the chair can even tilt as you recline, letting you comfortably sink back without sliding out.
If you want to spice up your seat’s drab look, keep in mind that the Titan Evo series XL comes in some awesome limited edition styles. From esports to Star Wars, there’s bound to be a design that suits your aesthetic. Be sure to see what pre-orders are available right now, too!
2. AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL
Best Budget Big and Tall Gaming Chair
AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL
The AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL is a spacious racing-style chair toting all the quality-of-life features you could want without breaking the bank. You get an impressive lumbar support system that moves using easy-to-control knobs, while 4D armrests further your comfort when pulled up to your gaming desk. When you’re ready to take a break from the action, the backrest hits a deep recline, or maybe you want to take advantage of the 15? rocking to ease some of that tense game energy.
Despite the low cost and handy extras, the Kaiser 3 XL is still a throne meant for larger-than-average gamers with its tall back, along with a sturdy aluminum base and steel frame to hold up to 395 pounds. At 20.2 inches, the heavily cushioned seat isn’t lacking in width either, with none of the metal bolsters seen in many racing chairs that often dig into your thighs. That seat is wrapped in durable PVC leather and available in nine color options to match your space’s aesthetic.
3. Homall High-Back Racing Chair
Best Big and Tall Gaming Chair for $150 or Less
Homall High-Back Racing Chair
You've invested in a great gaming PC, but it’s hard to nab a really affordable gaming chair that’ll also work as a big and tall option. Luckily, the Homall High-Back Racing Chair manages to do just that. For just $125 (and it regularly goes on sale for much less), you get a chair with a sturdy steel frame and steady five-star base that can hold up to 300 pounds. However, we have to fault the seat’s surprisingly narrow width of 14.5 inches, though the 20.5-inch depth and the height adjustment from 17 to 22 inches make it suitable for taller gamers.
The Homall High-Back Racing Chair doesn’t stop with just the basics, offering neck and lumbar pillows for added comfort, but unfortunately, the armrests aren’t adjustable. And when you’re ready to take a break from the game, you can tilt the seatback up to 180° or take advantage of its rocking feature. Completing the package is the high-density foam seat covered in wear-resistant PVC leather.
4. Razer Iskur XL
Best Mid-Range Big and Tall Gaming Chair
Gaming chairs can become a dime a dozen in the mid-range of pricing, which is exactly why the Razer Iskur XL. It wears its ergonomics on its sleeve (or at least on its backrest) to create a look all its own while also offering substance behind its style. Since the debut of the original Iskur in 2020, its snake-inspired lumbar support has been one of the most recognizable and unique on the market, but it’s more than just a gimmick. Its lumbar support actually works to give you the support you need for those long gaming sessions.
In our review of the original Razer Iskur (the non-XL version), our reviewer found it to be exceptionally comfortable and so well made that he wouldn’t be worried about riding it down a hill! And admit it, we’ve all tried to ride our chairs at some point. All of that holds true with the XL version and is even more so thanks to its larger size and more robust construction.
This chair is made for users up to 399 points and up to 6-foot-10, so no matter how big you are, it’s probably going to work well for you. The biggest criticisms we could find all had to do with the lumbar, which some users just found too pronounced for their liking. We also wish it was height adjustable to match a wider range of backs. The Razer Iskur XL remains an excellent choice.
5. E-Win Flash XL
Best High-Capacity Gaming Chair
E-Win Flash XL
You get your average big and tall, and then there’s next level big and tall, and the E-Win Flash XL is for those demanding the largest option out there. This chair doesn’t play around with its robust frame on top of a five-star base which supports a 550-pound max load and a spacious 22-inch wide seat, blowing the competition out of the water. A Class 4 lift that lets you adjust the seat height range from 18.7-22.7 inches and an extra-tall back means it’s also ready to accommodate you even if you’re 7 feet tall.
You don't have to trade out loads of features with the E-Win Flash XL, as you’ll find a deep recline, a rocking base, adjustable lumbar and neck pillows, and 4D armrests are all in place on this gaming throne. A densely packed foam is inside the seat to support your behind comfortably, while long-lasting PVC leather covers it all. And impressively, all the extra work E-Win has done to make this chair ready to accommodate bigger gamers hasn’t hiked up the price.
6. Maxnomic Titanus Black
Best Gaming Chair for Tall Gamers
Maxnomic Titanus Black
The Maxnomic Titanus Black is a towering throne for seriously tall gamers. At its basic setup, the chair bottoms out at 21.7 inches and peaks at 25.6 inches, so the vertically challenged should be wary of this pick. And a configuration option lets you buy an even taller piston that adds another inch of height, seeing this chair start higher than most of its competition peaks. Throw in the 35-inch backrest, and you'll be sitting naturally, even if you’re well over six feet tall.
To go with the insanely high seat, Maxnomic designed a sturdy steel frame and an extra-wide aluminum base to keep it well-balanced and ready to support a 385-pound max load. The company also flattened the side bolsters on the racing-style chair, ensuring you can enjoy the full 22.8-inch wide seat. You don’t lose out on other quality-of-life extras either, as the chair offers 4D adjustable armrests, a lumbar and neck pillow, and a heavy-duty tilt mechanism for deep comfort and relaxation.
7. Autofull M6 Gaming Chair
Best Ergonomic Big and Tall Gaming Chair
The Autofull M6 is a big and tall gaming chair taken to the next level. It's designed to cradle even the sturdiest gamer with a maximum weight capacity of 396 pounds. It features dynamic lumbar support system that moves in and out as well as up and down so you can position it perfectly for your body's needs.
Its ergonomics and comfort features don't end with its backrest. It also offers unique 6D armrests. Like most premium gaming chairs, the armrests can move up and down, in and out, forward and back, and rotate. The M6 sets itself apart by allowing the front of each armrest to snap upward to create and angle to support your arms while playing mobile games. If you're looking to relax, it even offers a built-in footrest.
While the chair is only available in PU leather, which is known to trap heat, its fabric is perforated for breatheability. The seat also mixes the usual foam padding with springs, much like a soft cushion, which allows air to travel more freely through. If you shell out for the Advanced Version, it even comes equipped with dual fans and heating elements in the seat for active heating and cooling. The only thing it's missing is a massage cushion.
Now, it's not perfect. The chair does sit a couple of inches lower than most gaming chairs, but is still adjustable to find a good elevation for your gaming desk. The lack of style and upholstery options is a bit limiting but thankfully it opts for a safe black base color to match most setups.
8. LFGaming LFG EX
Highest Quality Big and Tall Gaming Chair
If money is no object, the LFGaming LFG EX is one of the best gaming chairs money can buy. It’s made of genuine memory foam, not the stiff cold cure foam used in most gaming chairs. And when we say made from, we mean every single cushion. Even the armrests are topped with foam that supports and cradles your body only the way an adaptable foam can.
The cushions alone put the comfort of other gaming chairs to shame but it’s only one piece of the equation. The other half is the Brisa ultra-fabric upholstery trimming its surface. It looks and feels similar to leather, but is exquisitely soft, almost silky to the touch. It’s more breathable too, so you don’t get the same sweaty, sticky back a normal gaming chair would leave you with if you live in a warm climate.
The chair looks cool with its subtle bolsters, integrated headrest, and angled stitchwork — no one will question that it is a gaming chair — but it also manages to be great for ergonomics. The seat is exceptionally wide at 24 inches and is adjustable to provide more or less depth for your legs. The backrest features an adjustable lumbar using a lever on the back and can be moved up and down to make sure you receive support exactly where you need it. You can also recline, adjust the tension of its rock, and lock its height. And if you’re on the heavier side, you can sit in comfort knowing that its 425 pound piston and sturdy aluminum wheelbase will hold you steady for years to come.
The biggest downside to this chair is its cost. While we usually refrain from judging products by their price alone, there’s no way around how much more expensive this chair is than its competition. Instead of competing with Razer and Vertagear, it’s more closely paired with ultra-premium brands like Steelcase and Herman-Miller. But, if your wallet is able to stretch to afford it, it’s truly a special seat.
9. AKRacing Max Gaming Chair
Best Big Seat Gaming Chair
AKRacing Max Gaming Chair
Nothing is worse than having your legs crammed with armrests digging into your sides like sitting in an airplane seat. Enter the AKRacing Max Gaming Chair, which provides a whole lot of room to lounge with its 23.25-inch wide and 20.3-inch deep seat base. You can even move the 4D adjustable armrest out of the way to get your legs in the most comfortable position possible.
The AKRacing Max doesn’t stop with its big seat, as it has a tall back and a sturdy aluminum base that holds up to 400 pounds. Plus, you get lumbar and neck cushions alongside a deep recline and rocking function. AKRacing believes in this chair enough to back the PU leather against cracking and peeling with a five-year warranty and gives the steel frame an impressive 10-year warranty, all while coming in at a mid-range price point.
10. Razer Fujin Pro
Best Mesh Big and Tall Chair
Razer Fujin Pro
The Razer Fujin Pro has it all: style, substance, and comfort. With its mesh design, you can happily sink into this chair day or night. While it doesn’t necessarily look the usual part you’d expect from Razer, ditching the big branding and heavy gamer style, it doesn’t mean you won’t get your money's worth. Instead, you get breathable mesh that will serve you well in all seasons, a comfortable waterfall seat edge, adjustable lumbar support, and overall ergonomic comfort.
If you spend a lot of time at your desk, the eye-watering investment is definitely worth it. Your mental and physical health will thank you for it. It offers a wide range of ergonomic adjustments to ensure that it will properly support your body through long gaming sessions. It’s an outstanding gaming chair that offers plenty of luxury across its understated frame, providing the support you need whenever you’re sat down.
Our reviewer described this chair as "Razer, all grown up" and it's true. Razer describes this as a chair for gamers that may want something that will fit just as easily into an office as their gaming space but don't want to sacrifice ergonomics along the way. We definitely think it achieved its goal and in doing so delivered a competitor to legendary ergonomic chairs like the Herman-Miller Aeron. It will serve you well for years to come, thanks to its unique balance between a productivity and gaming chair.

How We Chose the Best Gaming Chairs for Big and Tall Gamers
In deciding which gaming chairs to include on this list, our first consideration is always which chairs we've personally tested and know are worth including from first-hand experience. We test a lot of gaming chairs, and will be updating this list with others we vet over time. Where that's not possible, we use our extensive knowledge to assess each chair's ergonomics, features, and materials. We also consult expert resources from our colleagues in the field and real user reviews. Finally, we take into account real world feedback on each company, how well they stand behind their products, and how they support customers in need.
What to Look for in a Big and Tall Gaming Chair
Let’s take a look at specific features you should look for to make sure you’re getting a chair that’s going to work for you.
Strength and weight capacity: One of the first and easiest things to make sure you’re getting is a sturdy chair. Check the max load capacity to ensure it’s strong enough to hold you up. It’s a good idea to get one that offers a bit of a buffer so the chair’s not always operating near its limit.
Seat width: You’ll also want to make sure you’re getting a wide enough seat. Many racing chairs have bucket seats that have lightly padded metal bolsters at either side. If that seat is too narrow, the bolsters are going to dig into your thighs and hips. Checking to ensure that a chair’s listed width doesn’t include those bolsters is essential (which we looked out for on the chairs that made this list). Better still, you can find some big and tall gaming chairs that don’t have these bolsters, and that’s a good sign the chair maker knows who they’re building for.
Dimensions and adjustments (seat depth, height, backrest): Your vertical adjustments are going to play a big part in your overall comfort. You’re going to want to ensure the seat is deep enough to come close to the backs of your knees (without pressing into them), tall enough to let your lower legs drop straight to the floor while still touching it, and with a long enough backrest to support your spine. A short backrest may seem like a small problem at first, but if the lumbar and neck pillows as well as the curves of the seatback don’t line up with the curve of your spine and shoulder, it will impact your posture.
Ergonomics: If you want to ensure you’re going to get good ergonomics, you may want to also check that the height range from the floor to the top of the armrests overlaps with the height of your desk, as this keeps your arms level with your mouse and keyboard. (This is less of a concern if you’re playing with a controller, though.)
Should you get a gaming chair or an office chair?
One of the biggest differences between gaming chairs vs. office chairs is the seats designed specifically for gaming often come with a long back and a headrest to better support your back and shoulders than a short office chair. Extra lumbar and neck pillows on gaming chairs help keep you sitting straighter, while office chairs often offer more effective lumbar support and better seat adjustability.

FAQ
How does a gaming chair help with gaming?
The biggest thing any gaming chair needs to do is provide you with the support your body needs to game in comfort for extended periods. Beyond that, gaming chairs often come with extra features and bolder designs than traditional office chairs. Their armrests are often more adjustable to support gaming with a controllers as well as mouse and keyboard. Likewise, the backrests usually offer an extended recline range similar to what you might find in a car. Simply put, the best gaming chairs offer the versatility you need to play games in the position that’s most comfortable in the moment and look good doing it.
Are expensive gaming chairs worth it?
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If all you want is a chair that looks good on stream, then the added features of a premium chair aren’t as important and you can save some money. Paying a little more can get you important upgrades, like improved cushioning, greater adjustments, and better materials. With that in mind, gaming chairs are like anything else: there are diminishing returns the higher in price you go. If you care about comfort, it’s best not to cheap out but you don’t need to lay out $500+ for a quality gaming chair.
Are gaming chairs good for your back?
Lumbar support varies from chair to chair, but it’s true that some gaming chairs put looks ahead of support. Many gaming chairs have completely flat backrests flanked by bolsters that hold you in a single position. These are what we call “bad gaming chairs.” Thankfully, it’s no longer true that all gaming chairs have poor back support. In fact, there are many that are quite good, like the Razer Iskur XL. When shopping for a gaming chair, be sure to look at the backrest from multiple angles if possible and read-up on what lumbar features it actually offers.
