Chen shared the news on Twitter saying, "Journey the older sister of Sky is out on iOS today! Thanks to ??@A_i and @SonySantaMonica?, three thatgamecompany games are within my pocket ready to play at all time!"Journey is from the same developer behind Sky: Children of Light and Flower, and is available to download for $4.99 in the App Store, with the option to play it on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A multiplayer option is also available, with matchmaking occurring through Game Center.
The iOS release comes shortly after Journey's PC launch on June 7, 2019. The game's initial release was in 2012 on PS3 through the PlayStation Network, and was later ported to PS4 in 2015.Journey released to high acclaim, scoring 90% and above in reviews from major outlets, including winning IGN's Game of the Year in 2012. According to Apple Insider, the game has won over 100 awards in total, including two Guinness World Records for, "The Most Awards won by an Independent Game" and "Most Critically Acclaimed Art House Game on PS4."
