"The announcement didn't change," Sony Computer Entertainment head Shuhei Yoshida told Polygon. "I don't think we will change our approach. The PlayStation 4 doesn't have backward compatibility."At the moment, Yoshida said, Sony is focused on creating new experiences on PS4, and isn't shifting focus to bring older PS3 games onto the current platform. But the Sony executive didn't rule out backward compatibility altogether.
"Backward compatibility is hard," he said. "I won't say we'll never do it, but it's not an easy thing to do. If it was easy we would have done that."
