"This is an old placeholder concept image that we accidentally leaked," Luckey said on Reddit. "Everything in it is ancient, certainly nowhere close to final (as evidenced by the GPU specs and the game named "war.") Enjoy checking it out, at this point, but don't expect everything to carry through to the stream on the 11th."Luckey's phrasing suggests some of the features and specs in the leaked images above may be planned for official announcement during the press conference. The images show the Oculus VR logo on the front of the headset, as well as a forward facing camera that has yet to be officially confirmed. There's also a close-up of built-in earphones resting on the sides of the set. Most notably, the image of the entire headset shows it without a wire, lying next to a small tower that does have a wire. The images also show something else: a remote with a touch pad reminiscent of Valve's Steam Controller. The image in the slideshow above shows the remote sporting Plus, Minus and Return buttons.
Users also uncovered a pre-order guide that shows off what could be the finalized PC specs for the headset:
- 4 GB RAM
- Nvidia 9800 or AMD 4870 graphics card with 1 GB dedicated RAM
- 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU or 2.4 GHz AMD Phenom 9850 Quad Core CPU
- 65 GB HDD
