Terraria Confirmed for Wii U, 3DS

Terraria, 2011's 2D crafting game, is coming to Wii U and 3DS, according to Re-Logic's creative director and a recent Amazon listing.

In April, Re-Logic's Whitney Baird confirmed the move to Nintendo's platforms on a Terraria forum. And just recently, an Amazon listing suggests the Minecraft-esque sandbox game will release for Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 31, 2015. There's still no listing for the Wii U version, likely considering publisher 505 Games's lack of an official announcement.

Earlier this year, Re-Logic and Engine Software announced Terraria: Otherworld, which isn't a sequel to the original, but instead an offshoot. It's set in an alternate dimension, and explores "what might have been" in a once-pristine world. It suggests a darker, science-fiction feel, as opposed to the original game's somewhat light aesthetic.

In IGN's Terraria review, we lauded its depth, vast amounts of content and high replay-value. Some even think Terraria is a better game than Minecraft, from which the former draws clear influences when it comes to world-building and sandbox gameplay.
