No amiibo collection would be complete without WarioWare’s most enthusiastic Nintendo fan. 9-Volt loves Nintendo and, in a lot of ways, resembles the diehard fan that collects everything about the company. His retro themed levels in WarioWare have always been a reminder of the great history behind this 125 year-old company.
Nintendo unveiled the development of a new Star Fox at E3. Heck, even legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto admitted he wants an Arwing amiibo someday. So this selection just made sense to us. We chose the classic Nintendo 64 Arwing, but maybe a retro Super Nintendo version would be the better choice. Which model do you prefer?
After his sublime debut in Super Mario 3D World, Cat Mario will always have a special place in our hearts. So why not make some space on our shelf for this wonderful feline figurine.
Any Pokemon would be a fantastic addition to amiibo. In fact, we’re already eagerly awaiting our Greninja and Charizard Smash Bros figurines. But it would be cool if Deoxys, an alien-like Pokemon with multiple forms, joined the list. Each of its forms is based on a specific stat. While we’re a long ways off from the T-1000 of amiibo figures, we’ll settle for a couple of variant poses based on Deoxys’ Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed forms.
KK Slider brings the joy of music to the Animal Crossing world. While we wish this amiibo came bundled with all of his wonderful New Leaf compositions as a bonus, but 91 tracks be a little too much to ask for. So, we’d settle for a DJ KK variant with turntables instead.
The Blue Falcon comes from the futuristic racing world of F-Zero, a Nintendo racing series that been on hiatus for some time now. Captain Falcon’ ride would be perfect for amiibo, and it might remind someone at Nintendo that it’s been a while since F-Zero GX came out on GameCube.
IGN editor Marty Sliva has an unbridled hatred towards Bowser’s spawn, and none of us know why. It’s one of the great mysteries at IGN. Bowser Jr.’s adorable handkerchief mask just screams “daddy’s little boy.” He’s so much better than the Koopalings, and he would make a great amiibo.
This dragon-like extra-terrestrial is the bane of bounty hunter Samus Aran’s existence. In fact, the heronine of the Metroid series has put Ridley (and his clone) down several times now, but that doesn’t stop this beautifully designed villain from making another comeback.
This self-proclaimed captain of the Toad Brigade made some nifty appearances in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D World before starring in his own game. Captain Toad has all the qualities of a real hero. He’s brave and gathers stars and power-ups to help Mario get the job done.
This light-hearted CO from Advance Wars deserves to be the first amiibo that represents the series. Much like the Fire Emblem series, Advance Wars and its sequels defined turn-based strategy on Nintendo's systems. The vibrant graphics and energy of the main characters would make a great addition to Nintendo's figurine platform.
The Chozo are an iconic part of the Metroid series, so it only makes sense to give them the figurine treatment. And a new game, too!
No, we’re not scraping the bottom of the barrel. The people love Cranky Kong. That pogo stick. Those teeth (or lack thereof). Truly all marks of this kong’s moxie. But the best part of a Cranky Kong amiibo is that this rock solid figurine would keep all of his mouthy remarks and unsolicited advice to himself.
Why would anyone want an amiibo of a paunchy, fairy-obsessed guy in the green suit? Because he's Tingle. This amiibo would quietly display his energy for everyone in the room to enjoy. Is there an amiibo you’d like to see that’s missing? Leave a comment and let us know which one you'd want.
