Game Debuts
World Cruise Story – ($4.99)Just yesterday, Justin posted a great article about the enduring appeal of pixel art and its ability to instantly tap into the sense of nostalgia shared by all of us kids who grew up gaming in the '80s and early '90s. As if on cue, then, one of the studios still producing charming, immediately eye-catching pixel art released its latest game into the App Store. You always know you're in for a good time when the cute, chunky-pixeled characters of Kairosoft show up again, and this time you'll see them showcased in a game design centered on the cruise tourism industry.
Shin Megami Tensei – ($5.99)
The Shin Megami Tensei brand has become one of the most popular on-going RPG series in the industry, having expanded into the Persona series and shown up on a variety of different platforms in recent years. If you're late to that party, you can now get caught up on how the franchise got its start with this new port of its first game, which originally launched in Japan over 20 years ago. In fact, this release is actually the first official English-language version for the game – before this, you could only play it in English with an unofficial fan translation.
Price Drops
Pocket Clothier – ($0.99)In celebration of the release of World Cruise Story, this previous hit from Kairosoft has dropped to just 99 cents. Not a bad price to buy your own virtual clothing store!
Journey to Kreisia – ($1.99)
And last for today is another of Kemco's JRPGs that has had its cost cut by six bucks. We had the time-traveling epic Chronus Arc yesterday, and today it's the adventures of a real-world high schooler who gets sucked into a fantasy realm.
