Trust us when we say there were far too many pieces of art to consider. We had plenty of favorites left on the floor, and no doubt you'll have a few things to say about our considerations. That's why we have a comments thread. Because tastes in art are so varied and so subjective, we want to see what you thought were the best covers of the year as well. So sound off and stay tuned as we continue to look back on the year that was.
A couple quick notes - our picks for best cover of the year were chosen based on artistic quality, representation of the content within, entertainment value, and our editors' personal leanings. We tried to stay away from creating a list with the same couple names over and over again, so some covers were scrapped due to giving a broader view of the year that was.

And with that, we complete our look at the Top 100 covers of 2010. Again, as we said in our introduction, there were so many worthy covers this year. We honestly could have made a Top 500 list with very little effort.
Now that you've seen our opinion, we want to hear what you have to say. We're sure you disagree on some of our choices - this is taste in art after all. We welcome that discussion, but we actually have a bigger request from you, the readers of IGN. This is about celebrating what made this year great, what made us come to the store every single week, what grabbed our eye on the shelf and made us dish out the cash.
What we want from you... is your favorites. Sound off in the comments in the thread below. Tell us what you loved. Tell us why. Celebrate the great art that this industry produces en masse.
And before stopping in to give your two cents, vote in the poll below. We saw the individual covers, but we're wondering which artist's work you enjoyed best. Give your opinion with a simple vote.
