Instead of offering up the familiar action/adventure experience on the Nintendo DS, Ubisoft Montreal is instead building a card battle-based design utilizing the characters from Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.
Battles of Prince of Persia is set between the Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The prince unintentionally ignites war between Persia and India by releasing an ancient evil when trying to rid himself of the Dahaka, the creature that's the focus of Warrior Within's plotline. Within Battles of Prince of Persia, players will command units and troops within a familiar "Tactics" interface, as well as control fights via a card battle system utilizing rules created specifically for this design.
The game will feature single and multiplayer campaigns, with the Nintendo DS system's single cartridge wireless feature being utilized for head-to-head battles. Battles of Prince of Persia will also support single system hotseat play for those players without a DS system of their own. Of course, it will also utilize the wireless function so that players can trade cards within their collection to obtain the rare ones from other players.
