Broken into three parts, our feature will detail the various units that players can control and square off against during the game's five playable modes. With the choice of 10 different pilots and over 80 minutes of actual footage in addition to the aforementioned units, Encounters in Space should have enough of the good stuff to send series followers into spastic fits of anticipation.
Today we'll be profiling the six units taken from Gundam's alternate dimension storylines known as G Gundam, Gundam Wing, and Gundam Seed. These giant pieces of equipment are pretty powerful too -- so you'll definitely want to check them out.
GF13-017NJII Burning Gundam
Like most other Mobile Fighters, Neo Japan's Burning Gundam is designed for close combat. Its devastating "Erupting Burning Finger" attack can destroy an opponent mobile fighter's head in one blow, granting the Burning Gundam an instant win according to the Gundam Fight regulations.
GF13-001NHII Master Gundam
The Master Gundam relies primarily on Master Asia's martial arts skills. Its most unique characteristic is its cape, which can either wrap around its body or fold back into wings.
XXXG-00W0 Gundam Wing Zero Custom
Equipped with a twin buster rifle, powerful thrusters in its wings, and a Zero System that connects directly to the pilot's mind, the Wing Gundam Zero Custom is the ultimate mobile suit of the Gundam Wing world.
OZ-00MS2B Tallgeese III
The Tallgeese III houses an extendable heat rod in its shield, and carries a huge mega cannon, whose maximum output rivals that of the Wing Gundam Zero's twin buster rifle.
GAT-X105 Aile Strike
One of the five mobile suits secretly developed by Earth Alliance Forces in Gundam Seed, the Strike is a versatile mobile suit that can be reconfigured for multiple purposes. Depicted here is the Aile Strike, which is the Strike equipped with a winged flight pack and beam rifle. ("Aile" is French for "Wing".)
GAT-X303 Aegis
One of the five mobile suits secretly developed by Earth Alliance Forces in Gundam Seed, the Aegis is one of the four captured by ZAFT forces. The Aegis can transform into a high speed mobile armor mode, and in this mode it can use its "Scylla" energy cannon.
That does it for our three-part look at the units of Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space, but we'll be back again soon with new movies, impressions, and more details. For more information in the meantime check out Bandai's own version of the feature we've provided over the last couple of days by visiting the official Encounters in Space image viewer. See you soon.
