The first title to be released uses an advanced "virtual human" biomechanics technology and engineering engine created by MathEngine PLC. This technology allows developers to create realistic human models that far surpass the current animation quality found in today's games.
"MathEngine's innovative technology is an excellent addition to the Atlus development process," said Mr. Noriyuki Tomiyama, General Manager at Atlus Co., Ltd.. "Using MathEngine's tools and services, we are able to create a whole new type of game. With the Interactive Human Technology and the advanced features of the PlayStation?2, we can test the limits of how good games can be."
The Atlus company spokesperson also stated that a new game in the Megami Tensei series, which is Atlus' most popular series in Japan, is currently planned for the PlayStation2.
Atlus believes that the PlayStation2 will be a very successful system in Japan and are planning to fully support it.
